    Can't get mortgage protection and bank won't wave insurance, what can I do

    I’d also really appreciate knowing how you got on. I have found myself in a very similar scenario and it’s proving extremely stressful.

    Banks can't insist on you getting mortgage protection if (eg for health reasons) you can't get it.

    I was in a similar position about 10 years ago...suffered from high blood pressure (now medicated) and failed the medical for mortgage protection. Still got mortgage. Still here too, and intend to be for the remaining 10 years of the mor.....arrrghh

    I have been refused mortgage protection insurance from three providers. Such discrimination because of mental health difficulties. Being treated for same but in no way a risk to myself or anyone else and have missed no time off work as a result. I manage very well. I have applied for a waiver from my bank. Fingers crossed
