Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ramos seemed offside for that.

    Scrappy.

Atletico need to attack now so hopefully it'll be a more open game

Be nice to see Atletico try play football now.

Offside goal. I could start a rant but I won't even bother.

Ronnie Whelan: Now Athletico at some stage will have to come out and get a goal...

I see he has been attending the Michael Owen technical college for punditry

Really hard to call in fairness after the flick on.

These close ones are the calls you're expected to get right when you've been assigned to the Champions League final ahead of all the other linesmen out there.

    Real looking very assured :-/

Benefit of the doubt should always be given to the attacker though

Offside or not Real deserve to be ahead. Ath haven't started yet.

You can't use that as an excuse for getting the decision wrong though. 'Oh well I got the decision wrong but at least I gave the benefit of the doubt to the right player' isn't an argument that is going to cut it in the biggest game in club football.

Real much better, can't complain really.

For the offside for the goal...at best he was millimetres off, too hard to call so no excuse.

Fair enough point in fairness. You expect the best of the best.

No you cant, but if you have doubt you have to give the benefit.

But a ref can't give a penalty unless he's certain. These cliches make no sense.

To quote Arsene, I havent actually seen the replay. Obviousl their was in the linesmans eyes enough doubt

Atleti's midfield is weak as hell.

Decent forward play from Atleti, once they don't get done on the counter!

Any linesman who has ever allowed an offside goal stand has given the benefit of the doubt to the attacker. It doesn't excuse anything, you're here on the biggest stage to get the big decisions right, not to give the benefit of the doubt. League of Ireland linesmen can give the benefit of the doubt.

Real have been the better team without question but this could be the goal that decides the Champions League. Atletico will have to completely alter their gameplan now to one them that doesn't suit them half as much.

It's the same thing...you can't make a decision to go against what happened within the normal flow of the game unless he's sure.

Can't give a penalty without being sure - can't rule out a goal without being sure.

It's not great but in fairness to Real Madrid, they're out Atleti-ing, Atleti right now.

Half-time is coming at a bad time here. Atletico finally finding a way into the ascendancy.

Even those at the top of the profession can make a mistake, from reading here it wasnt exactly blatant.

For the great job Zidane has done at the club, he really only brought Casemiro into the team. How blind was Rafa

Anybody, anywhere CAN make a mistake, but this guy has gotten the job ahead of all the other linesmen in Europe for the sole reason that he has been trusted to not make these mistakes.
