Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is Ronaldo not injured? He doesn't look fit anyway.

Funny to see theoretical Premierleague flops Luis and Savic comprising half of one of the best back 4's in the world.

What tournaments? I can think of one. You'd swear Portugal were a pub team rather than a country with a pick of players playing for big clubs.

He dragged Portugal to the semi finals of Euro 2012.

    Very handy player Carrasco!

Or they were away from home and fairly content with a draw. When he eventually leaves the effect on the Madrid team will be minimal.

    Minimal???

320+ goals out the window from one man and you say that's minimal??

    Correa, Thomas and maybe Thiago

Minimal. They've got goals in that squad to replace that, his contribution elsewhere border on nonexistent. Minimal. Mark my words.

    Is Ronnie Whelan ever happy?

he's reals top goalscorer in alot less time than raul did it, but his impact on the team is minimal, goals mean fúck all in football i thought you knew that no??

In the whole Ronaldo, Messi, big games thing, we should all remember who did it in big games.

Maradona. Mexico 86. That's why neither of them touch him.

Ice on the pitch. Outrageous Joe.

I'd say cause they're looking the more likely to score, and don't seem to be too tired. I'd say he's reluctant to unbalance something which is working right now.

Goals mean less when there are high level players in the squad capable of stepping up and scoring the same amount when they are made the focal point.

you could say the exact same thing about messi btw and the current barca team. but lets not let that get in the way of things.

Yeah they're both ahead of him. Hard to touch what's behind you.

i agree with you, that if a team is good enough there will always be goals scored, but ffs you have to at least acknowledge how good his goal scoring record is.

    Ah but they're not.

    Really.

But both very good in fairness. Just not...Maradona good.

    Anyway, back to the game.

Not at all. Far more than goals, he's the key to the team, both creator and scorer. Impossible to directly replace.

I reckon most people in this thread would have performed better than Ronaldo tonight.

I'd never deny his goalscoring record, I've not intention of doing that. He's a great goalscorer.

Maybe I didn't notice, but Simeone doesn't seem to be going as mental on the sideline tonight as he normally does.

Messi does it in Champions League games on a consistent basis.

They've not really cut away to him. He's probably going mental as we speak.

while i agree messi creates more goals, they both create so much space for their team mates by literally just being on the pitch and opposition being more concerned with them than others. do you think bale could do what ronaldo did at madrid ?

Can we all agree that if Real go on and win this cup they've absolutely done a Chelsea? After a great first 15 minutes they've been as average as they have throughout the tournament for me.
