So far today, it has been utterly miserable at Grange. At least the past few wet days had a good interval sometime but this day hasn't at all so far.

Grange's June 2016 Summary

Very warm, dull and wet.

Rainfall: Wettest June for 4 years but nothing remarkable.
I recorded a rainfall total of 78.9mm (164% of the LTA) but despite being much wetter than normal, it wasn't remarkable in anyway. Sure, it has been wetter than any of the Junes from 2013-2015 but it wasn't near as wet as 2012. I recorded 16 wet days - my highest for June since 2012. My highest daily fall was recorded on the 24th during heavy downpours with 15.3mm, my wettest day in June also since 2012 but nothing remarkable. Overall, in terms of rainfall, June was quite forgettable.

Temperature: Warmest June on record but no remarkably high temperatures.
It was officially my warmest June on record with a mean temperature of 14.9c (+2.6c above the LTA). Amazingly, despite being well above the average, there were no remarkably high temperatures recorded during the month. I recorded a maximum temperature of 24.2c on the 6th but June 1996, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014 all recorded higher maximums. On the 16th, I recorded a maximum of only 13.9c, my coldest day in June since 2009. From the 1st-9th, I recorded all days with a maximum of at least 20c. This was my longest period of such temperatures since July 2013. My minimum of 14.8c on the 6th was my highest minimum temperature for June since 2010. On the 4th, I recorded my month's minimum temperature with 5.9c, still the highest in June also since 2010. June 2016 was a very interesting month for temperature overall.

Sunshine: Dullest June since 1987/2012 but nothing remarkable.
For the first time since last November, June was duller than normal. I recorded a sunshine total of 161 hours (91% of the LTA) and it was the dullest June since 1987 and 2012. Sunshine was quite low during most of June in contrast to May just gone. During the month, I recorded only 5 days with 10 hours or more and every June from 2009-2015 recorded more (yes even 2012). These 5 days were the 1st-4th and the 27th. I recorded my sunniest day on the 3rd with 15.4 hours, still my lowest maximum June daily sunshine since 2012 - in contrast with recent years. I recorded one dull day (0 hours of sunshine), the 16th which was nice but it felt like there were ten more :pac:. June will be quite forgettable sunshine wise.

I would also like to point out that I recorded thunder and lightning on the 6th.
