It's a fascinating video, the disorganisation, the weaponry, the improvised vehicle and the attack and later retreat across such open ground

The insane craziness of being in contact, trying to reload, looking for ordnance for someone else, being stunned by the backblast of an anti tank weapon, the mad rush of being on the offensive with two other nutters who havent a clue what they are at, then the shock of being stopped in your tracks, the scramble to clear the smoking vehicle and grabbing what you can before staring back at the barren empty wasteland which you need to run through that leads to the only possible hope of any further life, followed very quickly by the energy sapping, heart stopping realisation, that you, are now the biggest bullet magnet for miles around.

    THEN getting shot.

only without any training other than which way to point a gun and pull a trigger.

All the while thinking about the next World Heritage site that you are going to destroy, and the scores of young girls that you are going to burn alive for resisting your 'charms'. In between some beheading by knife or grenade..

It sure is a hard life being a member of the most hated group of 'people' on earth.

I wonder what the make-up of IS actually is. Apparently they have skilled engineers (often Western educated) on their side. I wonder how many have military/fighting experience?

It seems like attracting young volunteers on the Internet but not training them properly will lead to stuff like this. At least in Ukraine it's fairly obvious that irregulars on both sides were getting decent training and had members flooding in with military experience. Vice News actually have a few videos showing how they were being trained for a few weeks in make-shift bases before being sent to the front line. Older men with experience were training young guys (and women). Even basic things like team working, drills and listening to the bloke in charge...

This video shows lads in a skip with wheels evidently panicking. Their "Allah - Hu - Ackbars" started getting a little jittery when they made contact.

If ISIS rely on intimidation, beheading, reputation etc... to take ground these kind of videos should offer a little encouragement to those fighting them. I imagine any reasonably trained Western army would cut through them like a hot knife through butter. In fact, they'd probably run away.

They're not all poorly trained, and they have heavier weaponary than this. I think this group came up against stronger resistance than they were expecting. The Peshmerga (Iraqi Kurds), have some new weaponary, some kind of radio controlled rockets.
