    Simple cos Carmody is the one who makes the most noise in the media,or is feeding them the stories and headlines or PR stunts of him and his bevvy of blondes are getting their kit off at any available opportunity for animal rights.
    So he becomes a natural touch point for the media. If we were to do the same and make enough noise for "gun rights" one of us would be in the same position on the opposite side as well.

    We did once, as an experiment. It worked. Unfortunately, we all have day jobs so doing that all the time is tough.

    Very true,but Carmody &co have the advantage of being able to pull PR stunts too that will attract live media coverage,that we cant afford reputation wise or are unable to do to get the live news crews out to cover.

    Folks, as per the normal forum rules, that specific matter (the second one in the original post) is sub judice so comment on it is not permitted at this time. The Times and Independent enjoy a large legal department that examine everything they publish before it's published and still get sued for technical contempt of court, so don't assume that because they've mentioned it that it's something we can talk about yet.     The issue in the second article has been adjourned until Friday the 22nd of June. As a result the moratorium on discussing it continues until at least then.
