Love watching him but he strikes me as very conservative, and its frustrating watching him always following, following.
I wonder will he have a go on the time trial Friday?

Not just about TdF as it covers all races but why do the riders move to the back of the bunch and then stick their hands in the air?

I know they are going back for food/water or whatever, but don't they all have radios so simply drift back and tell the car to watch out for them?

Not an overly interesting question I'll admit, just strikes me as strange that they put their hands up on constantly looking around them.

Good point about radio but it could be used for neutral service, show the commisaires that they are not drifiting back because they are dropped. To alert other cars that they can go round them but they will be back in a few minutes.

What's the story with all the waste flying out of the peloton? I can't imagine it's all picked up after?

The bottles are all apparently of a material that will decompose naturally. Have no idea about the general policy of what happens the debris.

Because their team car is not allowed to leave their position in the cavalcade until called to do so by the Comms. The hand in the air is to alert the Comms that they want their team car called up - as opposed to them waving back to their team car looking to be noticed.

I always assumed that just like there was feed zones that there was also waste zones where the majority of rubbish would be dropped and collected by the tour.

The riders are allowed drop bottles/gel wraps etc. anywhere they want and it's all collected afterwards by a cavalcade organised by the Tour.

Now I'm sure there is no way they can manage to collect 100% of all the litter, but I've never read of any problems associated with the process.

Saw a strange jersey in the peleton yesterday. Looked it up on the tour website and turns out it was Fortuneo-Vital Concept.

I genuinely hadn't seen them before now.

Seems to be the old Séché Bretagne, Daniel Mclay is having a stormer for them. Their jersey really does blend into the background though.

Ah I always wondered what Orica was.
Well I didn't really but now I know I am glad.

Some of those companies need to take out ads on eurosport. I hadn't a clue what Orica, Soudal or Etixx amongst others did.

Whereas we all know about Bora and Alpecin. That Bora extraction unit from last years ad was class.

The organisers have released a list of the prizemoney won so far on the Tour.
Unsurprising to see Tinkoff and Dimension Data lead the way but Cannondale's return so far is dismal.
