Won't be a gaming PC but you can easily add a graphics card to make it into a proper gaming PC

Given your requirements and from I've read in the spec it seems way overpriced. I would expect a fully capable gaming rig for that money.

Also want the PC for some general video editing and music editing using the like of Audacity and Nero movie maker

And generally want it future proofed for 3 - 5 years

If this is way overpriced what would you recommend mordeith?

    TIA

Well I'd bow to Digital Solitude's knowledge more than my own opinion, but if you are looking to use video and audio you might find the 240gb hardrive filling up pretty quickly after the OS and programs have taken their chunk.

EDIT: To be honest I'm probably considering the price of a self-build versus pre-built

It's a bit over €600 to build yourself OP so you can base off that I suppose.

I'd generally give other users opinions over mine so this could take a while Mordeith :pac

Adding a new SSD is easy as pie anyways if the 240gb fills up.

Have you considered a self build at all?

    Thanks moredeith.

Understood about the SSD but i have tonnes of space on external drives that i will use for the A/V files. I want the SSD for its speed compared to standard HDD

No have not considered the self build, I'm useless when it comes to hardware, so unless there was clear instructions in the box with all components, like slot x here etc I'd probably fry the PC before it was built :)

It's pretty much that simple, and can save you a lot of money.

I'd recommend having a bit of a look at YouTube for how to build a PC, videos are about 30 mins long. If you decide on it, we can give a full link to parts to buy here.

Agreed, it's remarkably easy once you don't use brute force. The most delicate part of the operation is installing the CPU, you don't want any bent pins. Mind you, it's over 10 years since I last built one so may this has gotten more foolproof.

Yeah it doesn't look too bad. I could give it a go and if it fails I can always bring it to a PC repair shop to assist.

Could you provide a link to the parts please?

Also do you think based on the Spec that it a decent PC for the price and and would last 3 -5 years and still be pretty nippy?

    TIA

Ah yeah you'd be flying for a few years.

I'll take €850 as the budget is that okay?

    i5 6400 €175
    16gb RAM €80
    Case €70
    1tb HDD €50
    250gb SSD €70
    500w PSU €60
    B150 board €60
    Total €575 or something

Close enough to €575 my mental maths is failing me.

€130 for a Windows key, €30 for delivery from Mind factory and then there's €120 or so left over for a graphics card.

You can get cheaper Windows 7/8/10 keys from adverts or reddit. If you get a 7 or 8 key you'll have a free upgrade to Windows 10.

If you get a cheap key, then you'll have over €200 for a GPU to make a very solid gaming PC for 3-4 years.

For the GPU anyways, at €120 you can get a GTX750Ti, and if over €200 you can get a (hopefully) very nice R9 480 at the end of this month.

On a bus at the minute so I'm not getting links but you should be able to find them on amazon or mind factory if you want, if not I or someone else will post them later.
