With the Euros in full swing, I'm hoping they'll have a revival of International Superstar Soccer, releasing on the eShop immediately following the presentation. Full Gamepad integration with a Dr.Kawashima-esque Mark Lawrenson head on the screen constantly updating you with facts about the game, the players and - through the magic of the gamepad camera - your front room or what he can see up your nose.

Bit of both to be honest!

I only got the Wii verion since it was literally the only thing worth buying the machine for (that was the last time I ever queued outside Game on Dawson for a console release too!). Hopefully that won't be the case for the NX. :)
I picked up my Wii on launch morning from Game in the Square. I finished work at 7:30am and went straight there, as they were opening at 8am. There was only one other guy there waiting, but a few started to show up while we were in there getting ours.

I'd picked my 3DS and my Wii U up on launch day too, got the 3DS at lunch time, and the Wii U in the morning, again only one other person waiting outside the shop that morning! (Actually think it was Myrddin, if memory serves me correctly, but we didn't know for sure till later!)

That Paper Mario game looks nice.

Sound is slightly out of sync for me on that IGN video.

    Last minute predictions.

I can see what we'll get on Wii U.

    ~ Earthbound 3
    ~ MK8 DLC
~ The last of the Smash amiibo
    ~ Tokyo Mirage Sessions footage
~ Mario & Sonic at the Average Games
~ Some footage of Paper Mario: Colour Splash
~ Footage of Hyrule Warriors DLC
~ Sizzle reel of indie games including whatever Nordic Games are porting. Plus Yooka-Laylee, Axiom Verge, SteamWorld Heist, etc
~ Maybe, just maybe, Pikmin 4
~ HD remaster of a Gamecube game(Super Mario Sunshine being the favourite candidate as a stopgap filler)
    ~ VC games
    ~ And if we're lucky a surprise 1st party retail game(please don't be a phoned in, half-assed effort)

I've been rewatching the Zelda video while they yap about Pokemon. It looks much better, the streams framerate was real bad. Looks much better there now. So much crammed into that trailer. GameXplain would make a week long analysis video from it alone. I want to watch it some more but I don't know when the Pokemon section ends. Are they doing the full hour?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,548 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

There is a lot to be said for the short 5 minute presentations in the MS/Sony conferences. I'm a bit bored of Pokemon already. Seen it all before.

To be fair MS and Sony have their drawn out little shows like this too, just that Nintendo didn't have a big conference. But I'm not sure putting this at the start of the stream was the best idea, although I'm sure Pokemon fans would be into it.

Jeez, how long are they going to be playing this for??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,295 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

So much flora and fauna in the Zelda video. Deers, horses, ducks, eagles, boars, apples, acorns, mushrooms, other small birds, herons, bees, honey and other flowers and trees.

I want keep watching it but I'm afraid they'll suddenly cut back.

Ah yeah, no doubt tons of folk are loving the Pokemon stuff.

I think it's interesting that the Zelda title 'Breath of the Wild' is very non-specific compared to the last few titles.

    Tri Force Heroes
    A Link Between Worlds
    Skyward Sword
    Spirit Tracks
    Phantom Hourglass
    Twilight Princess

All focusing on either a game mechanic or a character in it. Of course 'Breath of the Wild' may involve either 'Breath' or 'the Wild' in it somehow, it's just a little less specific than other titles in the series.

Yeah, turned it off there. Good luck to that. I'll just watch the trailer clips & save myself the time.

Same ive watched it a few times now, getting a sort of monster hunter/ xenoblade x vibe, i really hope its something like that, the part of the trailer where link is cooking the food on the pan is very monster huntery and the big bosses/monsters in an open world would be awesome in a zelda game, Like xenoblade X's big monsters dotted around the open world it would be cool just to stumble across and fight one without expecting it.

After 42 mins its Austria 0-0 Hungary

Just for all you footy fans that are watching E3 instead :p

On the pan he has mushrooms, apples, acorns and a nice big juicy steak. Most likely from the boar he slaughtered. :D

Edit: And there's also a drumstick from some bird, maybe one of the ducks.

Much nicer on the eyes than Reggie anyway! :pac:

Right, come on Zelda, blow our socks off with actual gameplay footage. Star Lord - avert your eyes/ears. :D

The shorter segments are infinitely more watchable...those long Nintendo ones are more or less guaranteeing that anyone not into Pokemon will be insta-bored.

Nintendo just like to do things they're own way don't they, even when it goes against logic & rationality.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,505 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Eh, did they forget to turn the camera back on?

You can see The Master Sword is either rusted or covered in dirt.

    Blasted stamina meter is back.

    Looking good so far.

I like that the hud is fairly clutter free so far.

Wonder will there be crafting using items?
