Should I Cut A Branch Off This Sapling?

Planted this Cornus Kousa sapling in the last week or two after it being in a pot for the winter. I'm just wondering if that large offshoot on the left is going to draw too many nutrients away from the trunk and leave me with a lop-sided tree in the few years? I'm wondering is it too early in its life to cut such a limb…

I'm wondering is it too early in its life to cut such a limb off. Any advice welcome.
