Cycling-Rentals are based in Lisbon, but will deliver a bike to a hotel/hosted in Villamoura.

Used them back in March no issues with the bike a fuji alu, think it was about 120 for the week
was going to use them again in May, but they only had an xl carbon, which was the wrong size, and too much for my pocket...

Thanks, are these prices not saucy though. 17 Euro a day for a bike seems a bit much.

Depends on how many days you want to use it and whether you want carbon. You won't get much for €17.

    Megasport.pt are often mentioned here.

I rented off of Cool Bikes (Rent a bike) - €30 for carbon bike for 1 day delivered and collected from the door, no credit card needed just a cash deposit. They are on facebook.

Edit. Just to add. I brought my own shoes and water bottle. When the van arrived the girl asked me what pedals I wanted and put them on in front of me. They did have only the one choice of carbon bike.

If you are renting a car over there a good idea is to do a spin in the car the previous day of the route you want to cycle. I had a bit of trouble making my way out into the countryside.

possibly...as mentioned, depends on how long you are out there...

If you are out for a week, it comes to ~120. If you were to rent a bike box (50 for a week) and ship your own bike out ~60*2, comes to 170, and you don't have to worry about your bike in Michael O'Learys plane...

"Lisa Bikes" provide a really great service but frankly you won't get much for €17 a day! They charge €35 per day for one day, getting cheaper as you add days, for a carbon Specialized Roubaix or Tarmac.

Bikeland.pt if you collect and drop back the bike instead of delivering offer decent value they arent far from Villamoura, I bring the shoes and tell him in advance what type of pedals I will need and he provides the rest. He will haggle the price too over the emails

Also keen to hire a bike in Vilamoura next week, since its a family holiday I think ill pass on the road bike and long spins and opt for a mountain bike for a bit of exploring maybe for 3 days.
    Thanks for the links folks.
