Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Adult gymnastics classes - should I go for it?

    Hey guys

I wanted some advice regarding gymnastics classes for adults. I'm 21 and and I've loved it since doing PE in school. (Unfortunately it wasn't focused on much but when it was I loved it) I became fascinated by the sport. I was lucky enough to win tickets to the mens gymnastics in London during the Olympics and I just loved it! Gymnastics has always been my favourite sport to watch at the Olympics.

Ever since school I've been wishing to take up gymnastics and do some adult classes. As I said I briefly used to do in school (just some basic bar work and tumbling, no cartwheels or anything like that!)

I'm looking for classes around the city in Galway. I live in East Galway but I'd be willing to travel for the adult classes :) Galway would be preferable but if anyone knows of adult gymnastics clases in other counties that they can vouch for, I would definitely consider them too.

One thing that has been holding me back is an injury I sustained 4 years ago during a talent show. I ended up dislocating my left knee quite badly. I had a great physio and was given exercises but it tends to sometimes flare up. It thankfully hasn't since dislocated but it does sometimes feel stiff (for example after a long car journey, when I get out of the car it feels terribly stiff and I really have to stretch it out before it feels stable again). But I haven't been doing the exercises as much as I should..so it's probably down to this??

The knee is literally the only thing putting me off!

I just created this thread to get some opinions on whether I should go for the adult gymnastics classes? What level could I expect to get? :) (I know I'll never be an olympian haha!) but if anyone else is in a similar position and started adult gymnastics classes, please share your story :) Also advice on the knee issue (would starting up gymnastics be risky because of it previously dislocating?) would be great too! Thanks :)
