Haven't seen any live golf yet. Very good long interview with Lowry though, toughest course he's played.

Followed by Andrew beef Johnson joined the lads in the studio. He's seems like great Craic. Seriously laid back. Monty however is painful as usual.

Terrible from McIlroy.

He just doesn't seem to be able to arrest a slide when it starts to go wrong.

The only way he seems to be able to win these days is if nothing goes wrong. Maybe that's always been true for him.

On the other hand, Shane Lowry - what a round!

Fairly honest interview after his round saying his swing is just all over the place at the moment and this course just puts major pressure on that.

Just wish he would have said that before yesterday so I didn't put him as captain in fantasy!!!

Probably, but it won't be that much over par - maybe 2 or 3.

That means he'd have to shoot 3 rounds in the 60s. Has that ever been done in Oakmont?

It's possible he might win - but it's very unlikely now.

Pity, he's so good to watch when he's in full flow.

I think the reason people are writing him off is because of how badly he's swinging the club and the fact that even a sub par round tomorrow (assuming that at the very least he's going to need to return tomorrow morning to complete his second round) might not guarantee making the cut.

Looks like these lads who were supposed to be afternoon starters on day one are really getting an advantage.

A lot better scores so far with the softer greens and they don't have to deal with any stoppages.
