Galizzi being well backed 12's into 8's.

Cmon Jennies, would be great to see an Ascot win for the Faheys and Ronan Whelan, heard that Davy Russell is supposed to be involved with her some way.

Who needs Hacketts with their silly money back if your horse comes second, great riding performance from the front.

My god you think Moore would have learned a lesson half an hour ago. Wouldn't have won but given way way too much to do

I remember him winning the Jersey and the Kings Stand with Ridgewood Pearl's sire Indian Ridge.

They went to Gok a few minutes into the program, had hardly mentioned a horse and they were introducing the fashion reporter. Could they not just do 1 segment towards the end for the people that enjoy that sort of thing(I assume there must be a few) instead of popping back and forth all day to him.

Despite being hugely irritated by the Americans on NBC, (accents, and emotional and their sneering at the Euros - though we sneered at Tepin)

Channel 4 and RTE (though that can be entertaining with Ted) and soon to be ITV have ALOT to learn .

Watched NBC coverage of the Kentucky Derby and Belmont and Preakness. It was ALL about the horses and the Connections. Jerry Bailey was very good.

Watched Matt Champman on ATR last night (Monday) at Windsor he might be a bit much, but it was all about the horses and connections. He is at his best when he is in the parade ring. Running around to meet with owners and trainers. Even chasing trainers for a word (Roger Varian) , getting the camera man to show what it is like in the parade ring and how trainers deal with fiery horses.

But no. Channel 4 could not even be bothered to show the full presentations . Some of those trophies are lovely. No, off back to Go ****

I had backed Silver Concorde and had expressed regret yesterday. Backed Elliot's too and each way on Prescott who placed (felt like Godolpin , so desperate for a win)

But, threw on money on Jenny because of your tip. Only one to get the trip I said, but did nothing with her. Thanks for the push.

Speaking of Godolpin, bar Varian who I like, let us all laugh at Godolpin. 15 runners today, no winners!

No point killing a horse if he ain't good enough or fit enough to place. It was a lot to ask of the horse on that ground and being out for so long

Pique Sous shouldn't even be running on ground that soft, say he'll probably go for something like the 2m handicap on Irish Derby day where he might get his ground.

Half way through an expedition backing Mix and Mingle in every Paddys in town. My bet of the week at 16's trying to get 10 e25 ew bets down.

Her luckless run seems to have gone unnoticed in the 1000 Guineas and im certain she can outrun those odds quite comfortably. I am worried about a few of them lurking in this race all the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,219 ✭✭✭tipptom

Aw Jays, looking at the signposts on the RP this morning and they picked that one out because its very rare that Gosden would run one so soon after winning at Yarmouth, was tempted but to long a price for meconfused.png

Going to have a nice few bob e.w. on McCreerys in the last at Ascot tomorrow at
    25s.
Supposed to be in great form and the ground will be perfect for her.

16s gone back it with 365 extra place same price. I think you're mad 250 e/w in a 26 runner handicap not even an extra place but the best of luck. Rating of 104 is high enough I'd have said

    What are you talking about

    1. The horse had been out for over one year, that was a pretty decent handicap to run in after only one race back, and with a big weight to carry

    2. The horse was made run on ground that did not suit

    3. The horse was fading, Moore was not going to start hacking him just to make sure that he got into fourth place, or third if lucky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 WinnerAlright

Solid start with Jungle Cat grabbing a place and Galileo Gold getting up to win.
    Bets for day 2:

    Royal Hunt Cup

A tough renewal but I am sure Convey has a big win in him and am backing him to duly oblige. I also fancy Hasanour to go close after a recent return to form at Naas.

1pt Win Convey @9/1 BOG (BV, Coral, Boyles)

1/2pt EW Hasanour @20/1 BOG (5 places with Boyles and BV)

    Sandringham

If Hasanour performs well in the previous race then I see Anamba going off much shorter than the prices available. Think he’ll relish the good to soft ground and looks like there’s still room for improvement.

1pt Win Anamba @10/1 BOG (Gen. Available)

Denis Hogan had Davy Russell up on one in Roscommon, they went for a gamble on it in to 4/1 fav.

Davys saddle slipped at the last when coming to challenge, pulled himself back on and rode a finish saddleles back up the inside to get second and get the boys out of trouble with their EW savers.

The man is a beast of a rider and would not be surprised if Giggenstown swallowed their pride and brought him back, well ok I WOULD BE SURPRISED!

Jack Kennedy will be the next rider for Gigginstown.

A bit loss here, is Cooper out injured or suspended , don't see him racing atmo?

Are there rumors of him getting the sack?

He went for a scheduled operation, can't remember what for.
There's been rumblings about him for a while, though a gold cup win maybe bought him more time ;)

Heard they like Dolce strega in one of the handicaps too. That was second hand though. Be a sweet double.

No Great Confidence here , all small bets

Jersey Stakes - Gifted Master - But doing an each way on Forge (ignore the last day, Smullen nearly got his head chopped off coming out of the stall, should be okay on soft) . For pure devilment and stupidity, with a nice draw I think Hearld the Dawn might actually remember that he is a decent horse despite the crap ground

Duke of Cambridge - Jazzi Top

Prince of Wales - eh....... ahem.... My Dream Boat

Royal Hunt - Flirting with the idea of Convey despite having no form on soft , being inconsistent, Moore not having much luck and having a big weight. But, he is on a good draw- each way and small. Donnacha is another with a good draw and has a good jockey on board

Sandringham - Dolce Strega & Annaba (not as confident on that one despite liking the ground)

Went for a few at big prices, they should all like the ground.

    2.30 Light Music 20/1
    3.05 Al Johrah 7/1, Spiaggia 25/1
    3.40 Maimara 10/1
    4.20 A Shin Hikari 4/6
5.00 Glory Awaits 33/1, Belgian Bill 66/1, Man Of Harlech 33/1
    5.35 Great Page 33/1 NAP

Hoping the soft ground doesn't hinder Lady Aurelia in the Queen Mary too much. Same sire as yesterday's Coventry winner.

I was in PPs yesterday with no intention of backing in the race when they played back Ward saying that he could not see any difference in the ground for the horse at Ascot which convinced me to back it which got my day of to a great start thankfully.

Heard him this morning about lady Aurelia and I thought he would be of the same mind about the ground but he did not seem so positive.

Bit to skinny to take the chance even though I think she is the best one in the race.

Soft ground will always be a worry with these very fast American horses but I've taken the 3/1 in hope over confidence. Was only 7/4 ante post when people were expecting quick ground.

She is HAWT. Did she get her English lessons from a commoner? Surprised , her accent sounds common (in a nice way) for a member of a royal family

Sure Bob was never known for the turf
