Jersey Stakes - Gifted Master - But doing an each way on Forge (ignore the last day, Smullen nearly got his head chopped off coming out of the stall, should be okay on soft) . For pure devilment and stupidity, with a nice draw I think Hearld the Dawn might actually remember that he is a decent horse despite the crap ground

Duke of Cambridge - Jazzi Top

Prince of Wales - eh....... ahem.... My Dream Boat

Royal Hunt - Flirting with the idea of Convey despite having no form on soft , being inconsistent, Moore not having much luck and having a big weight. But, he is on a good draw- each way and small. Donnacha is another with a good draw and has a good jockey on board

Sandringham - Dolce Strega & Annaba (not as confident on that one despite liking the ground)

ADAM KIRBY YOU DUCKING BEAUTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for those who were really on the Jap.

4th of 8 in a 2k class 5 maiden, needs to put more time in to the yard instead of the time mulling over which tweed suit to pull from the wardrobe

Even Ken Condon could have fancied his chances with Success days on that ground.

Process of elimination to be honest. Only had 6 euro on. The one time a speculative bet came home.

He got no run in France. Awful run - French Jockey:rolleyes:. Kirby is on fire. I was of the view that , bar Found, he was the only one that could tolerate the ground. If Found had not gone to Epsom, I would have considered her because I knew that the Jap would go fast and Found needs fast pace. After Western Hymn's failure to beat a horse on a penalty on his favoured Sandown, he was elminated. My Dream Boat also won in Sandown earlier bearing WH- Personally, for Royal Ascot, I want to see the horse's last run come from either Curragh , Sandown or Newmarket. Don't trust flat tracks like Donny or York

I just did not think much of the France race (and said as much yesterday) and that now puts question marks on New Bay (who apparently had a few set backs in the winter - hoofs)

They fancied the other one as well but they said they were afraid of the fav and that put me of.

This one of Buckleys tonight in the bumper at wexford looks interesting.

    First time out,backed from 12s to 3s.
Very good speedy breeding and the people involved are supposed to be pretty clued in despite it looking like a small set up.

Half way through an expedition backing Mix and Mingle in every Paddys in town. My bet of the week at 16's trying to get 10 e25 ew bets down.

Her luckless run seems to have gone unnoticed in the 1000 Guineas and im certain she can outrun those odds quite comfortably. I am worried about a few of them lurking in this race all the same.

Great stuff get to drive around for an hour collecting my money back :-( Only put down 150ew in the end at least.

Going to have a nice few bob e.w. on McCreerys in the last at Ascot tomorrow at
    25s.

Supposed to be in great form and the ground will be perfect for her.
Happy enough with my ew at 25s and Billy will be a little smug at trouncing the stable matetongue.png

    Tercentary Stakes

Abdon has gone far too low in the betting and I think he will have to perform much better than previously in order to turn the tables on Hawkbill. At 5/1 the value lies with him.

2pt Win Hawkbill 5/1 BOG (Betfair SB)

    Gold Cup

Order of St. George may prove a class above these but at the prices he is of no interest to me. Pallasator looks a worry but with the form of Frankie Dettori and John Gosden lately a chance is taken on Flying Officer. He may just be short of top class but he'll go on the ground and the marathon distance shouldn't prove a worry.

1pt EW Flying Officer @10/1 BOG (Skybet 5 places 1/5 odds)

Is it me , or did the ground seem better today?

Norfolk - I know he probably wants 6f but with that ground, I am going for Peace Envoy. Moore might decide to turn up and he knows how to beat Dunlop's horse
Strange that he has such a big price

Ribblesdale - Common Sense suggests Architecture , but , she has a wide draw and maybe coming back after the Oaks is too soon. Dar Re Mi took this route and lost the Ribblesdale. I quite fancy Palmer's other horse , We Are Ninety. Shall We , also from a wide draw at least has experience on soft ground and might be an each way shout - Nothing convinces me here bar Architecture and she is too short. Fancy We Are Ninety more, but, not sure if she stays

    Ascot Gold Cup
O'Brien is already starting to make excuses for the Gold Cup on how he would not want it too soft for Order of St George. Understanding in the sense that he never went over 14 f before, but the Irish St Leger was a bog. Let us call a spade a spade, that race was rubbish, it was not worthy of a group 1 classic (not the horses fault) He still has weight to receive. Still, now that he is starting to make those comments........... An a bright note (a) Order of St George has done nothing wrong in his races, though some opponents might be a bit meh (b) He shared the same mother as ......... Leading Light

Come on Pallasator - complete header but......... he will be happy with the ground, he should get the distance but is a nutter. Prescott should put ear plugs ,the works onto him and get him down the to the stalls ASAP. The Gold Cup is still the center piece and they tend to put on silly live music etc as they come out. He won at Donny at 18f beating a few of Mullins horses but he went bananas at Champions Day in October but still ran well. Sadly, like Brown Panther he went bat sh*t crazy at the prelims at the 2014 Irish St Leger, much to my delight ( but BP blew them away) Would prefer a more experienced jockey on this fella, but Oisin is smart enough and might do a better job than Atzeni in handling him (Atzeni admitted that he never wanted to ride him again)

I do not believe Max Dynamite is anything but a quality 16 f horse and his form on soft ? (Yes he won at York) Not exactly the smartest way to prepare for another tilt at Melbourne, if they so desire. He will love the big field and good pace. His team will say that there was no pace the last day at Sandown (Moore again not great) He tried to make his own pace and faded . Wonder how much of Melbourne was taken out of him? Clearly Mullins is desperate for a win in this race. But his run was so poor you can't just turn that around that quickly. ?

It is hard not to like Clever Cookie, he can be held up or raced prominently and can go on this ground, I am not so sure. His age puts me off. I know that he can run on soft and heavy, he will give all, and I know he won a Group 2 at York, but, if he has been getting nicked in other good 16f races, I hold no confidence in him at 20F ( Probably now run a cracker) . Mizzou ran a 3l 7th in this last year, and knows Ascot at 16f , so maybe also be a solid each way bet, can run on soft and has a reliable jockey on board

Just noticed Anitia Chambers from Sporting Life tipped two picks that I suggested. That is a bad omen, she is awful, I am cursed now

Like the look of Even Song in the Ribblesdale. She's got a soft ground pedigree and she'll be fresher than Architecture who had a tough race in The Oaks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 492 ✭✭Wicklow Brave

OOSG is the best horse in the Gold Cup by a mile but it seems they were in a bit of a rush to get him ready for it. Also, I don't think he's crying out for a trip - I reckon he'd go very close in the King George and the Arc with an ease in the ground. This race doesn't have much depth to it though. I've backed Pallasator e/w anyway (16/1).

I've backed Legendary Lunch e/w (10/1) in the Norfolk, Long Island Sound e/w (8/1) in the Tercentenary and Even Song (11/4) in the Ribblesdale. Would like to see Architecture frank the Minding form if I am to do my dough in that one.

    1 bet for me today

Chicadoro in the Ribblesdale (max ew bet)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 114 ✭✭closcriobh

    3 for me.
Think Peace Envoy can follow up from his Naas win in the opener.
Hoping Blue de Vega will confirm Irish Classic form in the 3:05 and NAP of the day is Max Dynamite in the Gold Cup. Rich Ricci said he wasn't fit LTO and was being prepped for this, EW bet to nothing IMO especially if Order of St George doesn't stay the trip

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,295 ✭✭✭Lt Dan

Kirby the last two day, now Morris today; not bad for the Winter AW Warriors

Gasp, I know O'Brien's horse probably found 5 f a bit too quick, but with stamina surely he should have been more prominent. To be fair, Ryan Moore tried . He is getting a bit too in love with being in the back and finding gaps

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,219 ✭✭✭tipptom

Thought the Godolphin horse would have won there but for missing the break.

Rumour is JP has a massive bet on OOSG,if true he must be very confident of him getting the trip.
