Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Evra stealing a living, can't help but suspect that for all their potential flair, that creaky back line really isn't going to get them to the final.

Kante is the player I'd take from this lot.

Ropiest French player of the match lads? evra?

    Absolutely the guy is poison.

All I remember about Romania is Ceaușescu and the wife in the fur coat riddled with bullets in Reeling in the Years. And that penalty shout out with shampoo guy

Looked to me like Giroud was the one trying it on.

Where is the young French centre back that at Madrid?

Im surprised a team of so many talented players have been built around the notion of crossing in high balls to giroud.

    France need Martial on.

    Martial on for Pogba?!

    Weird.

Would've had him on for Giroud.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Yep Pogba hasn't performed tonight at all.

Hagi and Dumitrescu in USA 94, they'd have some fun with that French defence

Giroud has been getting a lot of stick today but he has been one of France's better players tonight. Def looks the most like scoring

Last time I saw France play in Stade de France New Zealand ripped them a new one...
(Actually it was the one where they beat Sexton half to death)

    Is that Gignac warming up?

Kind of a pointless change if it's for Giroud

Any videos of the Evra challenge for the penalty floating around please?

The better teams will smash France if this is how they play.

It seems to be directing everything through Giroud. Weak from Martial there

Smash??? Jees they aren't that bad! In fact they look very good at times in what is a nervy performance.

Romania are hardly a bad team!

France are a complete mess at the back.

I've worked on this for a while, so it's perfect.

If the Romanians dribbled more often, they'd get pastrami.

West Ham will do well to hold on to Payet this summer.

    Payet with some magic again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Payet's been on another level tonight... particularly second half. Dead balls have been poor but he's opened Romania up single handedly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,612 ✭✭✭dubrov

Payet had been a little magician tonight. He keeps finding space where there doesn't seem to be any

They are all over the place at the back. They look decent going forward but the better teams will punish them.

Romania are the type of team people moaned about being included when the expanded format was announced. Done themselves proud tonight (eh, apart from their goalkeeper :o).

Enjoyable game anyway. France far from convincing.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

As was Pogba but France aren't half as threatening without them.
