Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There's a couple of thousand empty seats there.

Slovak support seems sparse... a lot of Welsh fans intermingled into it.

Not exactly huge countries only 8 million between them

Terrific to hear fans singing. Far better then that continuous trumpet shíte their nearest neighbours churn out.

The venues in the Groups may not suit the fixtures always. Wales vs England is on in Lens, which is only 35,000 capacity. As it's northern France you can imagine the demand for that one coming across the channel

I can remember Ireland playing Slovakia twice in Bratislava and it was more like a home game. There doesn't seem to be much of an appetite for football in Slovakia. Is there any one left in Wales by contrast? :D That said Wales probably have quite alot of bandwagoners as we do and im sure its going to be the same for England and the North

Yes, but the stadium only holds 42,000 so should be full.

Bar the defensive lapse early on, Wales have bossed this game. My only concern for them is how high a tempo they're playing with. May burn themselves out.

    Good tackle.

    It's hardly a glamour tie

Wales play their home matches at Cardiff City Stadium
    Hosts 33,000

Bale doesn't look bothered. Is he carrying any knocks? Just isn't really running much...

I'm not seeing that at all. He is showing for the ball at every opportunity. He doesnt always get it....and when he does he has 3 defenders around him. But hes trying in my book.

Bit extreme to say he doesn't look bothered!

Wales had to downgrade from the Millenium stadium to Cardiff and Swansea's stadium because they just don't get the crowds. Slovakia wouldn't be a big nation at all.

In saying that, you'd think the stadium would be full, even with locals going in to watch it.

Pathetic by the 5th official. You are there for a reason - grow some balls and advise the ref of a pen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

    Extra Officials...are...pointless.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,793 ✭✭✭Red Kev

    Straight red. No question.

They need to get rid of the 5th assistants behind the goals as they seem to miss so much stuff and I think I can count on one hand the amount of matched that I've seen where they've actually made a relevant contribution.

Skrtel is a player who has never learnt to defend and not foul.

Yeah, not bothered was definitely the wrong word looking back. I dunno, he just isn't throwing himself around or busting a gut kind of. Maybe I've just honed in on it I dunno :pac:

No replays would solve that risk. Just have the main stream on screen.

Playing the big decisions back are only going to incense the crowd

The soccer ones are no different. Utterly useless

Busting a gut and running around like a headless chicken doesn't mean you're not committed

Given how amped up the English fans are at the moment, could you imagine the same decision broadcast within the stadium.... Christ, there'd be murder.

Surprised at that. They did in the World Cup in 2002 and Fifa were not long dropping it during the tournament.

A lot of the empty seats are in the middle of the stadium, you can bet a significant about of these are corporate tickets, and the guests are to busy enjoying the corporate entertainment to come out and watch the match.

When I was at the last Euros and a Europa Leage final the tickets in the middle didn't even begin filing up till 15 mins into each half while most of the rest of the stadium was packed.

That is what it is meant to be in the ground but it seems they have the broadcast stream with replays

It's staggering how he's managed to carve out a career as a professional footballer. The bloke is a liability.
