Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wow, Rooney really is in CM.

Far better having Alli further forward IMO, so not that bad.

    Going with England 3-1

This will just escalate things further later tonight.

Unless we get a Rocky IV style turnaround.

The Russian fans start supporting England and begin chanting "Hodgson!"
    Very unlikely

You said he has been playing in that position before and now you are saying you don't know you haven't watched them much.

Thats only the few england games that they play over the year. He plays a lot for a club too.

I bet that Russian keeper costs his team a goal tonight. He always has a clanger in him.

All you hear in the build up is Kane and Vardy, the friendlies are based on Kane and Vardy

and then he picks Lallana and Sterling and Rooney.

Irelands call is awful! Catchy but awful! And its nothing to do with the rugby element, I like rugby

I recall a time when he was the biggest goalkeeping property in Europe, what happened him?

Is he a gambler? Could be a new feature for TV3 to try: 'Welching on a bet.'

Especially when we know now that Vardy's on fire & accordingly your defence is terrified.

    Perplexing.

I hope Russia win 1-0. Rooney gives away the penalty and gets sent off in the process.

    Who will choke first?

England's defence is their weak point. Russia may not expose it tonight but the first decent side will.

Say what you like about Woy, but he's no idiot. Panders to the tabloids, shoehorned in Rooney.... has pushed down expectations to an all time low by pushing a narrative of this side being a crowd of kids gearing towards the world cup.

England reminding me of United. Slow build-up, laborious play, and then they look awfully wide open when the opposition break quickly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

    Good effort by Lallana there.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

Regarding Vardy, the tactics that Leicester have are completely different than Englands set up. He is an excellent player but England would have to rejuggle a lot of their players to get the best out of him. He will come on in mid second half and his pace will be more useful then.

Not the most strange of decisions, especially with Kane on the pitch. In fact a player like Rashford or Sturridge would suit this game moreso.

Has to be about 20 goals in this.
