Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking into changing from Barking Heads my dogs developed skin issues from a food i had them on so switched to "quackers" from Barking heads which i believe is the best but at €90 a bag its a little pricey so looking for an alternative.

Anyone any experience with the below? http://www.dogfooddirect.ie/modules/shop/products/champion-sensitive-fish-and-potato-12kg-/

Or any recommendations? Its for a Pug and Cavalier.

I moved away from barking heads when they changed their ingredients as the new recipe was poorer quality but they didn't change the price.

I feed Purizon now, go for smaller bags though if it isn't all used up within 3 weeks. Mine won't eat it if the bag is open longer and the quality deteriorates after that time. Fish flavours are good for skin problems.

Thats not bad, the thing to look for in the ingredients with most skin issues is if there is more than one meat (or fish) protein source. Sometimes food will say it only has one, but then they will use chicken fat to coat the kibble. That one looks like only one protein source, so should be fine.

I've bought a couple of bags of the Lamb one over the past 2 years and haven't noticed any ingredient change? Are you sure it's across the whole range?

They added grain to the existing range and brought out a super expensive grain free range about two years ago. BH website says the lamb contains no barley but there is no list of ingredients on there. The ingredients list on zooplus says there is barley in it. Do you have a bag at home?

I think the Purizon is going to be my new food as per Cherry blossom's recomendation, after looking at some reviews it seems to be a better choice than the barking heads and they do a Duck and Apple version :-)

Yes there is oats in it alright but cooked oats in food are fine in my opinion as long as meat is still the predominant ingredient. Yeah I have s bag downstairs

There was always oats in it :). It's the barley that's new.

There is no Barley shown on the ingredients list for the adult lamb Bad Hair Day but there is on the Golden Years. Doesn't show amount though. I have a bag of both and am trying to wean my two 10 year old Shih Tzu's onto the Golden years kibble.

get the museli mix its only 20 for a large bag, we feed our seven on it now, we have a shepard who has bowel problems, this helped no end, a lot of the dog foods are cooked in chicken fat, so the muislei is far superior to everything we tried, we spent a fortune on her, chicken and boiled rice, various expensive brands from the vets, this is the best we have come across

What brand of muesli mix? There are a lot on the market.

Dog foods aren't cooked in chicken fat, the food is coated in the fat after cooking.
