    Hi

I emailed Oxigen about their charges last week. Thye came back to me with a story that they haven't finalised their PBW ( Pay By Weight ) charges yet and should have them this week.

I also contacted Ray Whelan for their charges but it seems am not important to them as they didn't bother to reply.

The service charge is paid for 6 months at a time and there's the option of €6 discount if you set up direct debit and paperless billing.

I am one of the very few Oxigen customers in Athy & will post details when/if i get them, invoice is due in early July for second half of the year.
I have a feeling that they will pull out of Athy by the end of the year as they never gained much market share & will need to offer a new organic collection service from July.

The new prices with AES & Ray Whelan would add nearly 100 to my current annual bill of 270.
My waste bin weight averages at 30kg per lift.

info provided by email from AES to customers today
    Dear Customer,

Further to Minister Coveney’s announcement, all AES household customers’ existing price plans will be frozen from the 1st July 2016 for 12 months.

During this time, AES will provide its household customers with a direct comparison of their existing price plan against what they would pay on a Pay By Weight service for the quantities of waste they present. This will provide customers with an opportunity to review their weights and presentation habits before the anticipated implementation of Pay By Weight.

Any AES customer who wishes to switch to a Pay By Weight price plan can do so at any time from 1st July 2016.

so, prices stay as they are, which for me is a standing charge and a price per lift for brown and waste bin.

which means for me I will only be putting the waste bin out three times in the next year and the brown bin twice.
where as, if I was going pay by weight I would be putting the bins out whenever I wanted, once I could place a gravity lock on the bins.

Oxigen pay by weight Athy details now on their website.
    service charge 180
    waste 25c kg
    Recycling 8c kg
    No extra charge per lift

No price given for brown bin which was never an option before
Website says brown bin available & call for details.

If you were in Naas or Newbridge the service charge is only 130, waste 30c kg, recycling free & brown 19c kg

I would guess the brown bin would be between 15 & 20c kg for Athy taking above into account.

My uncapped charge on pay by weight would be over 400pa. Currently pay 270pa.
