I have a mate who is thinking of upgrading to the RX 480 from his 280x, he is currently running an i5 3330 in his rig and is worried about bottle necking the new GPU, would this be a problem at 1080p? if you were to suggest an upgrade what would it be? I was thinking of pairing it with the 6600 or 6500. Thanks in advance.

Upgrade to SSD & 8Gb RAM first, I highly doubt it'll be really bottlenecked at 1080p.

It won't be a bottleneck, unless in very CPU intensive games, and even then it'll be pushing it

Without wanting to hijack the thread I had a similar question - currently running an i5-3570k w/16gb DDR3. Anything need upgrading before I flog in a 480?

Not a thing. Even a stock speeds it's more than fast enough, the 480 would still be the bottleneck in the overwhelming majority of titles.
