Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

His first touch is soo bad. Took it far too wide

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 848 ✭✭✭Superhorse

And that's that for Belgium. Italy don't give you many of those.

    Darmian nearly cost Italy.

    So lazy.

Poor touch from Lukaku made a more difficult chance.

    Great save Courtois.

I love how calm the Italians are in their own box. The three central defenders that is.

    End to end now.
    Fantastic game

If anyone tries to tell me lukaku is worth 50 million I'm showing them this game

Italian central defenders just waiting for Lukaku to take a touch

You think we'd create a sniff against Italy... off your rocker.

If Italy hold on to win this, and then beat Sweden, we would not be playing against this Italian side.

Lukaku is a disaster. De Bruyne having a poor game too

No, we'd be playing a talented second string hungry for a win to put themselves in contention for the next round.

This belgium team is awful and all the hype about them.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,257 ✭✭✭Peist2007

Another yellow for Chiellini v Sweden would be good. Conte has switched to 4-4-2 when Italy are missing one of the trio and they havent been as solid in those games

Joe Brolly is at home saying "He might be a great footballer, but dont talk to me about Chiellini as a man"

Does Hazzard not like DeBruyne pretty much refusing to pass to hm

De Bruyne has been beyond shocking

    De Rossi had been phenomenal.

I'd rather that than playing this team.

Italy are wonderful to watch defending. Absolute masters of the art.

De Bruyne has been beyond shocking

Fellaini's outdone him in the s h it ness stakes. At least we know De Bruyne has quality Fellaini is just a lanky thug with no talent.

    Lukaku has been worse.

Lokaku looked like he'd never actually played the game before. Really bad. Origi could do well though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

Why not bring on Origi to complement Lukaku... not replace him!

    Fallaini should have been hooked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

    Talk about your tactical bookings!

    Éder... f*ck sake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,930 ✭✭✭PeterTheEighth

ffs, that's terrible. They need to introduce some sort of card where the player who drags the other player down gets immediately substituted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Eder with the win via rear naked choke.

Italy comfortably sitting on a 1-0 lead. Who woulda thunk it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

So Eder booted it out of play after the whistle for his foul... yellow card no?

I wouldnt call it too comfortable now. In the last 90 secs, two yellow cards for cheating

Beglin said the same thing but its wrong. The whistle hadn't actually been blown yet. No foul had been called yet.

That's some shocking cynical play from the Italians. Pity given that they were so good in the first half.

Belgium are taking shots with the Italians right in front of them

Wouldn't say they're too stressed either though. Old pros they are. ;)

Plus Belgium are toothless in the final third.

I don't know what result here is best for us. I think maybe a draw?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

    Origi is a worse Lukaku

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

    Origi is a worse Lukaku

He's clearly not been but he plays for Liverpool so I see why you posted it.

    Was a bad miss tho.

Good to see Vermaelen playing again. Making defensive errors just like the old days

    From the writer Irvine Welsh:
Italy like a touring rock outfit who've humped equipment and groupies in vans together. Belgium a boy band who have just been introduced.

Belgium will give it everything Sat but we will too.

We do want Italy to beat Sweden Friday though

Origi's touch looks awful. Definitely has the look of a man who hasn't played much football.

Their first string isn't even that talented. Do you see the reserve Southampton striker leading their line?

Italy really are masters at this

    Origi is butchering this.

    Origi has been woeful

Belgium were never getting back into this - Italy masters of tight international tournament football.
