Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great to see such a good-natured ribbing between two sets of supporters. Having a drink....getting on well etc

It's a shame that a minority are trying to ruin it for everyone else.

Agree. I presume thats in Paris?
These would be real English fans who would be based in Paris and will travel to Lens on the day of the match.
They would have no interest whatsoever associating with riff-raff trouble makers in a town where England weren't even playing.

    Oui, its in Paree alright.
It just shows that the argument doing the rounds here yesterday that England had to stay in Lille because Lens is too small was a lot of rubbish. These real England fans stayed in Paris because Lens is too small.

Are you done pushing this idiotic line of thinking yet? How many times does it have to be said that UEFA told them to stay in Lille? That's right, the organisation hosting it.

having been advised to base themselves here and travel in to nearby Lens for Thursday's Group B showdown with Wales.

Pesky English, following advise given to them...

They where advised to stay in Lille

However nowhere in the advise did it suggest hang outside the train station for returning Russian fans while chanting "we hate Russians"

Stop pretending they did nothing wrong

Can we kill this thread now? As long as there is no retribution against Wales fans on Monday hopefully we can concentrate on the football.

    Ps Bale, what's the score??

Reports from Germany are saying that a pair of Spanish tourists were attacked by a Russian mop yesterday. Likely to be heading home from the Euros.

I had a hunch that they went home after Marseille as there was very little going on in Lille apart from tensions.

Assuming there was no outside factors involved, local or Russian supporters turning up, it would be interesting to see what happened if the police just backed off for a night and left the English to drink and chant (even if the chants are sometimes in poor taste) without moving in.

You can say the majority of people deserve harder policing because of reputation of an minority but policing is about effectiveness not revenge. Hooliganism has been largely driven underground in England because of proactive policing.

Other nationalities (even the Irish) would probably fight back if the police were as quick to move in with tear gas when they were boozing, climbing on cars, singing etc of which there was plenty of this tournament.
