Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surely Gylfi Sigurdsson is playing or is he injured?

He is. Paddy Power had a fake team up on twitter which I somehow fell for :o

Been looking forward to this as I've backed Portugal to win the tournament. It's all about how fit Ronaldo is, and whether he can stay fit.

Surely Portugal can beat a supermarket team quite easily

Iceland are too cool to lose (new hipsters choice, now Austria are a busted flush)

Hopefully Pepe makes it through OK, he's been victim of some terrible assaults recently. Only going by his reaction but he's lucky to still be alive.

If only Portugal had a number nine, baffling that they haven't produced one in donkeys years.

I'm kinda torn here. Obviously i want to see Iceland get a couple of good results.

But I'd love to see Ronaldo run riot in this tournament.

I think on thr Guardian podcast they said they have brought only one out and out striker in rhe entire squad. Ronaldo being a midfielder

    I'll go 3-0 Portugal.

Just as an aside am I mental or is Nani at 100/1 to be top scorer a massively overpriced. He's starting up front in what on paper is the weakest group, in a low scoring tournament where no-one has more than one goal in a team that might go far. Now I now Ronaldo will probably get the lions share of chances but even so.

Its more baffling out a relatively small country just produces golden generation after golden generation. Were they bad in the early 90? They didn't qualify for anything till Euro 2000 did they?

They were in euro 96 afaik and won the championship in the 60's, still wish they won in 2004.

Iceland looks like a nice spot to visit for the single man. Cameraman doing fine work.

My very first Ireland game was on October 13th 1982 in Landsdowne Road, where we beat Iceland 2-0. Grealish and Stapleton the scorers. We have come a long way since then and now Iceland have come a long way. I wish them the very best in this game.

    I'm supporting our Nordic cousins.
A genetic study of Icelanders found the original settlers were a mixture of Scandinavian men and around 62% of the women were from Ireland and Scotland.

Portugal are playing some really nice stuff, Andre Gomes and Danilo look very comfortable on the ball.

Ah in fairness now I think Ray does know a thing or two about how to score a header in a European Championships.
