I had an interview with State Street a few weeks ago but got an email yesterday from Orlando, basically say if I hadn't heard anything now I was unsuccessful in gaining the apprenticeship. I'm just curious if anyone actually did get a job out if it.

    Hi Kabwarriors,
Do you mind letting us know what level apprenticeship you are going for? It looks like the associate roles are the only ones being filled so far.
    Thanks

It was the associate level, someone else I know got the same email I did. I honestly thought my interview went well 45 minutes. I must not have had the experience they were looking for

As a lot of us suspected this entire scheme was not well organised or planned out...they recruited us before really knowing if companies would be interested and exactly what companies would be looking for once they were given a pool of candidates to choose from. The fact they have opened it up to internal candidates from companies is the final nail in the coffin for me. I'm just going to forget about it - it seemed to be too good to be true right from the start. ..pity NCI didn't realise. They just wanted the government funding...I'd love to see the pitch the put together to secure that. I have no faith in public sector either so its no surprise.

Yeah that is what I am doing just taking it easy no matter if I get it or not cause it is being dragged a lot. At the start it stated September is the start date now January and I would not be surprised if it will be dragged into next September.

Not the NCI/FSI fault I'm sure the companys were all for it at the initial stages hoping for cheap workers. But paying a grad 35k for a 4 day week worker is fantasy when the open market is cheaper.

But was it not 21k for a grad and 35k for someone with experience?

Where did you hear it has been opened up to internal candidates in the companies?

Thanks for that doc11. I wouldn't mind been kept in my company, if it meant I could get out of my department (funds), although this could make it harder to get placed in other companies as they prefer to recruit internally

Like you I am not a bit surprised. I think there will be a complete restructuring of what's on offer to both candidates and companies. They may even lose the funding if they are not seen to be fulfilling the obligations set out when they won the contract.

Just wondering if anybody has any further news on this? I would say it is deferred permanently but just curious if anyone has any inside information.

I actually emailed them last week. Still waiting on a response. Don't expect to hear anything to be honest.

I heard it's sometime in the first quarter. Apart from that piece of info - I'm in the dark unfortunately.

So Carol Kenna posted the below to the IFS apprenticeship LinkedIn group....I feel very frustrated right now...I've wasted so much time on this:

"I'm on the IFS Apprenticeship Shortlist - what's next?

The shortlist is live for a period of 12 months. Throughout the lifespan of the shortlist you will be contacted if and when your application is of interest to a participating company.
There is no need to 'check in', we will proactively contact you when there is interest in your file.
Following the 12 month lifespan of the current shortlist, interested candidates will be asked to re-apply via our website application process in order to be considered for the next shortlist."

Lovely! When did they think up this rule. What a scam of a scheme. They wasted so many people's time typical govt. funded sh1t

I'd be curious enough to know if anyone actually got a place. I mean there is all this talk of major plans for the IFSC and of course Brexit. It's a sitting duck here. But then again companies are not too pushed about this in my view. There is a huge market out there for employees.

So from the 300 at the interview has it been short listed to 44?

Or are they just farting around?

I made the shortlist for specialist, but no sign of anything since last year. I was told in December that we would be looking at an early first quarter 2017 start, but we are now in mid feb.

    Has this thing died?

H Waestral, we are all in the same boat...as i said last week, this was posted on their LinkedIn group....this process has been very misleading...

Hi Maloner4, where did you hear its been narrowed down to 44? All I know is that I was shortlisted around August last year.

So the promised jobs, arent really jobs at all, and the whole IFS thing is just the taxpayer doing the role of HR for some banks?
