I am looking to do a fitness workshop for the 50 + age group. Basically explaining the benefits of exercise, why exercise becomes more important as we get older etc.

Also to demonstrate some basic exercises or mobility drills that can be done at home. From the workshop I would then like to start a fitness class for the over 50s which I feel is a age group that is neglected.

The one thing that is challenging me is a name for the workshop/classes-Any help would be appreciated

examples-"Fitness for 50+" and i'am kind of struggling after that-suggestions/direction would be appreciated.

It needs to have 50+ in the name otherwise the purpose will be lost in ambiguity.

I think Fitness 50+ sounds good - no need for the 'for' imo.

Agree with Cianos, 50+ needs to be in the name.

    Bodywise 50+

    Gymbody 50+ (bit aggressive?)

Ernestine Shepherd only started weights at 56, she should be your poster child, she's 80 now and has a better body than any woman I know.

I think jokes apart this is a great idea. I found at 60 going to a gym daunting being surrounded by guys in their twenties and thirties pumping iron and even the showers afterwards was challenging

50+ Fitness sounds better than Fitness 50+ in my opinion

    Other ideas:

    Next Level Fitness
    Twilight Fitness

Not sure about twilight, that might be hard for people to come to terms with at 50

Fitness 50+. Think about how vitamens are marketed to this age group.

Or ......Twilight fitness - free set of gnashers and sulky teenager with every class. :)

Saw a cycling touring group called the Coffin Dodgers recently.

I teach a class for 50+ but I don't but 50 in the name. Some people don't want to be seen as 50+ it's tough to get the balance.

I don't know if a 'ronseal name' ('does exactly what it says on the tin') is necessarily the best for you. They are great for instant understanding, but they can be off-putting if the product is really an aspirational product. The product isn't like fence varnish, it is about the wish to stay young, to be stronger, to have vigour.

'Curves' is the similar brand I can think of. The name is aspirational, but it is always linked to the 'women-only' line in the marketing. The photography also plays a big role. You can't look at any of the materials without understanding who it is aimed at.

That said, I can see the attraction of the Ronseal name.
