Hi guys. My boyfriend just got a job in Cavan town so we are moving there very soon. We don't know anyone in the area. We're in our mid 20s, and it would be nice to meet others in a similar scenario. Anyone got suggestions about how we might go about this?
    Thanks :)

As you're moving to Cavan town you should readily find other 'youngsters' :). I'd imagine that your boyfriend will socialise with workmates and that should be a start.

I suppose it's a case of just integrating yourself with the local community Hannah. Whatever you like to do socially where you currently live, just source similar in the area you will live in. Google is your friend :)

I'm not familiar with the pubs in Cavan town, but the only way of finding your 'usual' is by getting out there and find one you like. Ive never been myself, but there is the Odeon cinemaon the main street. Take up new hobbies and interests and I'm sure you won't be long setting down new roots.

Have you been in the town itself much? Its a good idea to visit as much as possible before your move, feeling familiar and getting to know places will help you feel more settled.

What hobbies to you have? Sports, music, cycling ? There is also a few people running an Art house cinema screening occasionally.
