Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hopefully FPL launches today, I can't take much more of this waiting.

Liverpool and Burnley have switched their GW2 fixture to Turf Moor, which makes Liverpool's opening fixtures even more grim. I'll be swerving most likely

    Free app this year too

How come the change? That means two home games for Burnley to start

Anfield Main Stand redevelopment is scheduled to finish around that time

Maybe they started UFPL was just a fund raising scheme so they could make the app free.

Firmino is a striker this year - loses a lot of appeal for me, he was gonna be a definite!

Are you assuming that going by the player list on the site? That list is normally different to the FPL list good few of the attacking midfielders were listed as forwards last year but were mids in FPL.

Just seen a few things on Social Media about it, hopefully they're wrong!

Yeh its all based on the list. Doubt the same people construct the two lists but you never know. Hopefully we don't see a big positional shift for the attacking midfielders. Hopefully not long until we find out!

Right. Looks like no launch till next week.

FFIX have this combination of predicted prices on their twitter today.

    https://twitter.com/FantasyFootyFix/status/751395727197306880

Assuming they are right, and they seem pretty sure on their predictions, selling their pre season pack on the strength of it, how do we guess that £52m breaks down.

    My stab at it:

    Aguero 13m
    Ibra 9.5m
    Hazard 10m
    Payet 9.5m
    Mkhitaryan 10m

    Total 52.0m

If ibra is 9.5 I'll be ALL OVER that
Aguero if fit is in too
Hazard is a good price IF he hits form again
Will prob wait and see on him

As Zielger said Mhkitaryan is likely to be similar price to KDB. Hazard should be down on last seasons starting price but can't see him being less than 10.0.

Assuming Aguero is same as last year that left 19m for Ibra/Payet. I could see Aguero possibly being 12.5 after an overall lower points season total last year, and Ibra being 10.0

A poster on FFS who is using the FFFix tool says they have Ibrahimovic at 12.0 and Mkhitaryan at 9.0.

I'll guess Aguero is 12.5, Hazard 9.5 and Payet 9

    :(

There are simple rules to owning Graz Pelle

    1. Never own during Winter
    2. He starts well and has a late resurgence
    3. If he has low ownership and hasn't begun a run of form: Buy.
    4. If he's building momentum captain early.
    5. As peak Pelle arrives prepare to offload or have a plan.
    6. When a few people say their week rides on his captaincy: Sell.
    7. Sit back and admire your sexy Italian man as everyone calls him BUIB resulting in pages of questions asking what BUIB means instead of scrolling back or using the search function.
    8. Leave dust to settle and hop on board the early winter Kane Train.
    9. As late February approaches and flowers begin to bloom it's time once again to repeat step 3.

    10. Sell him to a Chinese team before losing the .1 in value you have gained from his 2 price rises from casuals buying him in :D

Certainly would have saved the FPL playing world a lot of keyboards. I'd imagine the F5 key is fairly fecked on a lot!

Yeah he definitely knows behind the scenes info. He predicted the chips precisely last year as well as some player prices.

But now he has a following on twitter there's definitely an element of hyping it up. As well as, I suspect, an element of new site and hosting meaning the launch date is a bit of a movable feast.

Yeh it's weird how it took until this year for him to pick up a bit of a following. He does seem to be enjoying it a bit now like it's his 15 minutes of fame! It was pretty impressive for July 4th to be correct given he said it so far in advance given it all got a refresh although for all we know all that was finished then was the homepage!

I've a physio appointment between 11 and 12 today so it's a cert to go live today about 11.15!! :(

I was at the doctors when it went live last year.

Lol that's surely making it at least 50% more likely to live then! If it does you'll have to go for the hattrick next year!

Do they not normally drip feed us some player prices via their twitter page to build a bit of hype ahead of the launch?

Maybe we're not as close as we think and it could be a few more days at least, or am I remembering wrong?

Thats not the norm but they have done that a bit in the past the account has been pretty quiet so far though.

I don't think they did it last year?

Think it was the year or two previous to that. Didn't really add much for me and its not like they need to get the buzz going on twitter any more than it is already. Marks teasing tweets are doing a good enough job as it is!

Edit: according to twitter some players prices were posted in the hour or so leading up the game launch so if that happens we know we're in business for sure!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

I don't think they did it last year?

They didit last year if i recall. But only overa few hours before hand. They were releasing trios of prices on twitter and i remember thinking it would go live in the next few days, then suddenly it opened.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,810 ✭✭✭✭jimmii

I'm not one for following FPL twitter accounts but didn't realise just quite how many there were. When you search #FPL there's a ridiculous amount of them guessing its very much a case of quantity over quality.

Was thinking about this watching the final last night.

Any stats or articles on players who played the Euros/World Cup/Copa America if they were slow starters the next season. I recall some players who struggled for form but need to look into it.
