Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Same team again for england... sterling starts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Starting XI: Hart, Walker, Cahill, Smalling, Rose, Alli, Dier, Rooney, Lallana, Sterling, Kane

Hennessey, Gunter, Taylor, Davies, Chester, Williams, Allen, Robson-Kanu, Ramsey, Bale, Ledley.

the same XI isn't a bad call from Hodgson.

the bad calls will come if England aren't winning after 60 minutes. he's unlikely to do what's necessary in order to win the game.

Wales changing keepers. Was Hennessey injured for the first game?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26,567 ✭✭✭✭Fratton Fred

England will need to score 2 or 3 to win this, as I can't see them shutting Wales out.

Celtic fight - sigh, we talk about English cliches but the Irish have more than a few hardy annuals.

Bookies are massively overpricing Wales, I got 7/1 with Bwin earlier.

    Wales to win 2-1

  • Registered Users Posts: 182 ✭✭whatever_

A draw would not be bad for England and I think this could be the first 0-0 of the tournament ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,221 ✭✭✭✭Grandeeod

0-0 or 1-0 to either. I expect it to be tight.

How can RTÉ still be out of time between audio and sound? Especially in the studio parts?

Only have 6/7 channels, prefer watching this way over stream where possible. Would switch channel if possible.

I hate to say I think England will win this by 2 goals...but I'll be rooting for Wales.

    Pob lwc Cymru.

I think anything but a win would be a disaster for England, considering that Slovakia would only have to play for a draw to advance in their last game.

    Unchanged England side?

    Good man Woy, score draw.

That England team out is bad and Woy is a bad manager, I think a bad russian side made them look better then they are...

    Score draw I reckon.

0-0 for me. Wales will be happy enough to keep things tight and invite England on them. England will play with a lot of fear and struggle to break the Welsh team down.

Shame that Land of our Fathers is played at double speed.... And then half speed!

Trust UEFA to f*ck up the world's best anthem.

That Welsh jersey is horrible. English Nike template jersey is crap too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Toobz

Wales won't be sitting back looking for a draw. They have a good mentality i'm sure they want to win the group now that it's very achievable...that said..2-1 England with Hart and the Tottenham lads stepping up their game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,684 ✭✭✭FatherTed

A little off topic but if Northern Ireland and England meet in the quarters or semis(likely change I know:p) do they play GSTQ twice? How stupid would that be?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,292 ✭✭✭GreNoLi

Wilshere should be starting, far and away England's best midfielder.
