Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

England will equalise before half time.

Terrific strike & the guy in the wall played a part....

But, Joe Harte should have got that.

More dreadful goalkeeping... hard to understand why Hart is still number one for City and England... pretty average last few seasons and hasn't improved at all..

Totally against the run of play but the goal the game needed...

You could see the arrogance of Hart before the kick was taken. Didn't believe he'd get beaten from there.

Hart really should be keeping that out.

Bret Hart would be quicker in goals...

Score Free kick from 35 yards out. It wasn't that great a strike though, Hart should have saved it, but let it go through his hands.

England dont seem like a big team any more

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

You just have to save that. He is not a world class goalkeeper and never will be.

City dont have another GK to replace him with, not yet anyway.

Ronnie won't be happy Bale is doing on the big stage and he can't.

The tournament would be poorer without our saxon counterparts but they're simply not good enough / give enough of a fuck. Wales want this more.

    Compare to Ronaldo against Iceland.

Hilarious that Bale isn't the automatic choice for Real.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Vardy and Sturridge have to come on for England or Roy is to blame totally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Saw a replay from behind the goal just there. He was too far over to the right, made it too difficult for him to get across.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

England have to get Vardy on the pitch.

Miranda Hart would have saved that

    Please no.

I would like England to get to the group stages, Hart isn't world class but he keeps those out 99 times out of 100 in the league.

They were genuinely world class in last decade but they are a a low second tier team on paper now

HE wasn't even to far over. He just didn't move his body quick enough after the strike and then his technique was awful to move backwards and palm it into the goal. There's amateur goalkeepers who'd be disappointed to let that in.

Ronaldo generally does the biz against smaller teams which there is a lot of in Spain. Bale is more consistent against big and small teams.

England are doing nothing with the ball, just massaging their passing stats

Go Wales delighted they are ahead. Is that not Garath Bales second goal of the finals do. The commentator said it was his first goal of the finals which is wrong. He scored in there first game as well did he not?

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

It was a poor enough free to be honest, a good keeper saves that every time

Think Fraser Forster on the bench is a better goalkeeper. Hasn't got the experience of Hart which is just about all that would go against him in terms of being chosen for the tournament as number 1 but I'd have been looking to replace Hart with him last year and get him established as number 1..at least give him the chance...

What he do...have no access to coverage here so following this

Scored against the run of play from 35-40 yards out, around the wall and into the bottom corner. Hart should have done better, didn't get enough to tip it around the post.

    Was a great attempt.

The two of them and everyone else in the world know who's a better FK taker. I'd love to see Bale grab the ball out of Ronaldo's hands the next time he tries to take one at Real, he's shocking at them and has been living off the Portsmouth one for 8 years now.

Been saying it for the longest time that Forster is a better option - especially when it comes to tournament football and you need you're keeper to make 2-3 world class saves to win a game for you. Hart got by with a great defence in front of him for some time at City. You just don't expect him to make match winning saves and he's prone to the odd one of these.

Hardly dreadful, Bale whipped it in there nice and low, he saw it late + could only manage to paw it into the corner

England? World class? Last 10 years? Huh?

Hart was smirking before that freekick thinking Bale was taking the mick.

Very unprofessional IMO and has cost England big time. The power and dip that Bale gets on shots should be taken very seriously no matter how far out.

England should really be taking this Wales team to the cleaners, another striker like Sturridge will help and Sterling off

It was 3 yards inside the post and hit from about 34 meters out. Hart has to save that.

Lol, it's amazing the rubbish people will come out with after a goal from a free kick that a conference keeper would have saved.

No he should have saved it. He positions the wall, he positions himself accordingly. Good shot but at this level should be saved. Poor goalkeeping, dreadful.
