I hope we hear Kimi's reaction to that.

    This too shall pass.

There'd be fewer plastic bags floating around though, maybe Baku needs a bag levy!

Eh, why is there a Manor in 9th?

Was just thinking the same about the levy!

Wehrlein started on the soft tyre so moved up when the others pitted

    230 mph.

Anyone know what the record is during a race weekend? Surely that's close.

OK, according to Redbull.com it is 372.6kph (231.523mph) recorded by Montoya at Monza 2005. Could it be broken this weekend as the cars get lighter?

I know, but it's still strange to see a Ferrari having to overtake one for position! :D

Yeah I was expecting fireworks, but it's all been a bit bland

Paul di Resta is one boring guy to listen to.

Strange yes! A lesser spotted Manor fighting for a position that's not last.

Hulk started on soft, he looks like he's struggling for grip out there, this may end being a 2 stop race

That's the second time Hulk has just opened up the back door into Turn 1

    This too shall pass.

Leaders must be due in soon
McLaren must be fuel saving, not really getting anywhere

Ha the commentators assuming Hamilton would be in front of Checo after he stopped. The force India is looking quick this weekend

Is there a C4 HD channel on Sky platform? Watching this in someone else's house at the moment for the pain.

Thought this was gonna be a great race and besides the overtaking it's bloody boring.

    Kimi don't ever change :D

You have to tune it into the Other Channels segment.

    This too shall pass.

Interesting strategies being used. Mediums for Max.

Still surprised at the lack of accidents.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Kimi is 40 seconds behind Rosberg and we're not even at the half way point

Edit: Old data, down to 18 since Rosberg stopped.

I dunno - I'm quite enjoying the strategies in play too. Max now the first driver on the Medium tyres, which may pay dividends by the final laps. Those tyres have had been used already, they say, so they have been heat cycled.
Ricciardo now in for Mediums - 2 stops for him.

I thought in Canada, they had to use the hardest compound in the race. Not the case here?

    This too shall pass.

Pirelli nominate 1 of the compounds that must be used at some point in the race. Then the second compound is open. Don't think it's always the hardest

We could do with a full safety car here to bunch them all up again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,936 ✭✭✭LEIN

We could go the distance without a safety car.

We might not even have a virtual. I just wonder if perhaps the support races made them too wise to the track.

    This too shall pass.

Shame to see Nico prance away into the distance.. 18 seconds. This track looks good - just unfortunate there hasn't been much of a race.

Hamilton getting a bit of radio assistance?

Hamilton getting a bit of radio assistance?
No they didn't tell him which engine mode to switch to. They just told him what they taught the problem was.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,445 ✭✭✭✭flazio

When Hamilton pits next we might see a mechanic reach in and change the wheel controls. Or could Hamilton get a message on the pit board?

    This too shall pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

So Hamilton has an issue with something and he can fix it from the car but doesn't know how.

If that was Vettel or Alonso I'd be fairly sure they would know how to fix it

Edit: you'd be changed to I'd be

Lost a fair bit of time on Perez since pit stop

I think that's a stupid rule. What 's the point in having a bloody radio if you can't use it to get advice of your team.

Lol.. '"we don't advise that Lewis" i.e. Are you fu cking joking me!

    Ctrl+Alt+Del Lewis.

Hamilton "Is it the brake balance?"
    Engineer "getting warmer"
    H "The clutch"
    E "getting colder"

    This too shall pass.

For the record, how would you be fairly sure?

Hamilton might hit the wrong switch doing his nut trying to work out which switch he needs to turn on or off.
