Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

BBC reporting that the Dortmund attack was perpetrated by a trader who wanted to bring down the price of their shares.

That's surely way too bizarre to be true?

The truth is always stranger than any fiction could imagine. So, uh, yeah, it's possibly true. Not the first time something like that has happened either.

Don't think it'll be as straight forward as people think.

Having backed Monaco E/W mid tournament I'm slightly biased in hoping they get to the Final.

From a football perspective can't fault Juve's defensive masterclass.

I think Atleti could do Madrid but I think that everytime in the CL :pac:

When did something like that happen before? Very weird occurrence.

Perhaps the weirdest one in recent memory though was some lad at Intel hoaxing an ISIS threat to get the day off work.

Never underestimate the weirdness of human behaviour.

After the usual suspects, Juve and Atletico been the consistent performers in Europe over the last few years, ideally that would be a fantastic final as others have pointed out.

Fair play to Golden Miller the monies from our Ronaldo bet landed in my account today.

I see Bale has a calf muscle tear and will miss the CL semi now.

Another big blow for Madrid....their season could end with nothing.

In fairness they have Isco who has been very impressive recently.

    Good point.
Bale hasn't been playing well recently, maybe his injury might let a better performing player get a side.

They didnt even use him in the Clasico which was strange.

Zidane went with Asensio's pace and he caused serious problems but his final ball was poor, I was very surprised that Isco didnt get brought on for Bale.

Atleti are not the force they previously were. Real under Zidane are nothing but efficient and pragmatic. Real slight favourites imo.

Monaco were really exposed against Man City. Juventus were very lucky not to concede against Barca in Turin. That flatters their defensive record a bit imo but they're still far more solid defensively than Monaco have shown themselves to be. Juve decent favourites imo. Allegri will surely look at those City games.

Love to see Greizmann in the final and finally get the plaudits he deserves

I'm calling an AM v Juve Final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,881 ✭✭✭✭klose

Surely griezemann gets the plaudits he deserves? I mean his quality is clear to see.

Going to call a Real/Juve final. Honestly dont care who wins it from here.
In order of Juve/Monaco/Atletico/Real for my preference

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,292 ✭✭✭GreNoLi

I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be a Spanish representative in the final, hope Juve win outright.

Juve will be a massive test for Monaco. Monaco have been playing the best attacking football in the competition but Juve's defence is unbelievably good, if they can break them down while also keeping out Dybala they'll be worthy of a spot in the final. Most likely outcome will be a Juve Real final I'd say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Real - Monaco would be the most entertaining final. I'm hoping Monaco can with it outright but wouldn't begrudge Juve or Atletico taking it. As long as Real don't win it again. :pac:

Big question tonight is how much dosh will Golden Miller lose?

I'd like Atletico to win but history tells us they'll bottle it against Real Madrid.

Sergio Ramos 90th min goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Should that not have been offside? Ronaldo made an attempt to get to the ball from an offside position?

Terrible start by atletico and Mr. Omnipresent scores, was offside in the previous phase.

Technically yes, but I've never seen them given when the defender clears.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Atleti will point to Ronaldo being offside in a previous phase of play which influences the poor clear that leads to the goal.

Scoreline is reflective of the game though.

Maybe in the next bet don't count headers or shots with his right foot along with penalties. Might win then

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Modric looks a bit like Dobby from Harry Potter

Maybe he should just stop laying bets altogether that one of the greatest goalscorers of our generation won't score. Seriously, he should probably stop that.

I think to say they bottled it before is harsh on them. Real are an incredible team no shame in losing to them.

Does he influence it though, he seemed a yard or two behind the player. He didn't even challenge for the header so can't really be deemed to be interfering with play

Ronaldo continuing to do nothing against the big teams.
