Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why does George Hamilton say "Gomes" is a dutch accent?

Gomes in portuguese sounds like Gomejj

Hope yee get to catch the goals from besiktas benfica match. Besiktas come from 3 goals down to salvage a draw.

Couple of cracking goals and a rabona cross assist from Queresma for the equaliser.

Cheers for the recommendation. Well worth a quick google!

First Besiktas goal was some lovely finish!

The third Benfica goal was like something from a blooper reel. How many times can we hit the post!

Gladbach playing tidy stuff and 1:0 up, too.

Not that it matters of course with current points and remaining fixtures... :(

Goal Messi! Goal Messi! Brilliant clipped pass by Neymar and Messi's technique is as perfect as it is deadly. The GOAT.

The GOAT? Is that 'Greatest Omission of Annual Taxes'?

Almost no pressure on Verratti from Arsenal players. Mad.

Forgot about that goal alright. Was pretty hilarious. Never seen anything like that before

    Arsenal peno.

Ramsay holding his face there after getting hit in the chest. So bad it's funny.

Krychowiak at fault there. Arsenal blessed to go in level. PSG were the better team.

Krychowiak needs a a good kick in the hole for giving away that ball.1 minute left in the half just see it out instead of over elaborating.

Pathetic from Ramsey. Thought he had a bit more class than that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Was there contact on Sanchez? I wasn't sure but I only saw one replay so far.

It was a dive and a penalty if that makes sense.

The guy didn't even throw himself to the ground FFS. I've seen a lot of players go down from far less.

He instantly held his face when he was pushed in the chest. That's pathetic in my book.

It's even more pathetic if you throw yourself on the ground for the same thing.

    Cracking Dunphy line there!

I didn't think there was much contact in the replay I saw but I could well be wrong. Seemed like an exaggerated fall regardless of the level of contact

Yeah but a lot of players would have tried to get the other guy sent off by throwing himself to the ground there. He didn't and nothing was made of it.

Actually, they showed a replay just now from a different angle and Cavani did catch him at the bottom of the cheek. So it was understandable that he was holding his cheek.

English based players are the worst, egged on by pundits who can talk up ordinary players who score lots of penalties. Little or no contact on sanchez and gown he goes, and Owen and Co on BT' oh yes, clearly a penalty'.

    A scourge on the game.

I didn't see that I must admit. I was wrong if that's the case.

Great save from Gordon - yeed bet your house on Suarez there Liam..... well one of them anyway

Dembele has to score that chance.

Couldnt agree more, my pet hate. "He should have gone down there". Do they even realise what they're saying when they say that?

    Awful from Izaguirre.

    Just about from Messi.

Why is RTE showing a dead rubber?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Suarez doing what Suarez does. And then Messi.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

from what could (or should) have been level to being 2-0 down. Psychological downer there.

Floodgates could open now, if Celtic just accept their inevitable fate

It's a good game in fairness.

Very harsh call. Yes the Celtic player put his hand around Suarez but Suarez trapped it there and bought that penalty.

Celtic 2-0 down from that peno will be hard to recover, but Celtic still fighting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,735 ✭✭✭Vincent Vega

Messi 3 goals off being top scorer in CL history. In 20 less matches than the current record holder!

2-1 Arsenal. Own Goal from Verratti.

Amazing that Arsenal are leading this game. So jammy.

It's alright, for once they will top the group and then still draw Bayern!!

    Terrible dive by Cavani

If there was ever a dive that warranted a yellow card, that was it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Cavani throwing himself to the ground there.

I think Emery might stick Matuidi deeper and bring on either Ben Arfa or Jese for Krychowiak.

Edit: Yeah he went for Ben Arfa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,345 ✭✭✭jamescd

Cavani could and maybe should have been sent off by now. Yellow card for catching Ramsey on the cheek with his hand and then a 2nd yellow for that terrible dive.

Do you REALLY need to ask? Bypassing my own bias, I wouldn't have minded seeing the Arsenal game tonight. But it was never going to happen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Neymar obviously tried to get himself that yellow so he can miss the next match.
