Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Possession without structure, at this level, can't win trophies.

Their possession stats for that half wouldn't be up their usual average.

Never thought I'd be saying this but PSG will be kicking themselves they're only 2 up at half-time. The tie should be over, they were that good.

Is Rabiot a Motta clone, very similar technique, excellent player too.

    The ball hit him alright.

It's not so much what they've done with the ball or how much of the ball they've had but rather their shape in possession and has that's affecting the turnover phase.

Psg are such a well balanced team. Still think Barca will score

Cant say that this hasnt been coming ,Barcelona's midfield has been very wasteful this season.
They give the ball away far too cheaply nowadays.
How Gomes is getting a game ahead of Rakitic is baffling ,he is anonymous in every match.

I'll even watch Corrie at this stage, it's that bad.

Psg should be out of sight. Gomes and Roberto look really out of their depth at the moment. But then again iniesta and Messi have been anonymous. So maybe I'm being harsh.

Veratti is just sublime to watch.

He's adapting but, while his performances are so far below what you'd expect of a Barça starting midfielder, he isn't solely to blame. Enrique has decided that the midfield simply isn't a priority at Barcelona. It's gone from our strongest area to our weakest. The genius of the fronr 3 has bailed us out so many times this season and the previous 2 seasons and maybe they will again in the 2nd half but tactically this is an omnishambles.

Draxler has been brilliant so far and Veratti is always brilliant he's lie a new version of Xavi.

7 players around the Barca box when Rabiot won that ball back

    Benfica 1 up

You could focus on the technical aspects with Barcelona but first and foremost their attitude and work rate stinks. Messi leads the way as usual. Stands still or walks when his side doesn't have the ball.

Pathetic defending by pique, cowardly effort for the goal

What a shame. You're transported back to 2008. This is Rijkaard's last season. A team in a rut. A team that simply can't compete at this level with their highly esteemed individuals. A team in need of revolution. The fear is that, unlike in 2008 when a daring young Joan Laporta was President and he elected for the unknown quantity of Pep Guardiola over Jose Mourinho, I have my doubts that Bartomeu has the nerve to make a similar decision.

    King is dead?

Barca may be big in Spain but are they now just another higher level side in Europe?

It's not like PSG are dominanting ligue 1 either

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

Veratti is a shorter version of Andrea Pirlo. The clever short balls are a joy to watch.

    Rafinha? Dafuq?

    Is rakitic injured???

Lot of deserved praise for Verratti, but Rabiot is so good.

Luis Enrique looks like yet another inept manager at Barca who is made to look decent by the likes of Messi and Suarez.

Quick someone post arbitrary dribbles completed or touch of the ball stats that highlight how quiet Messi has been

Nice to see Barca taken down a peg. The arrogance of some of the players is infuriating.

Mcmanaman is head wrecking. How they can be in like from a barca free kick. It's called a counter attack.

    Who would you hire?

Who do the Barca fans want?
