Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Napoli one up after some terrible keeping from Navas to get caught.

Napoli 1-0 up too away to Real. Insigne.

There was no stopping that Robben goal.

Risible defending in the run up to it though. Allowing Robben to cut inside onto his left foot.

That lunge by Mustafi was beyond stupid.

    No defensive structure.
No cohesive strategy in how to get the ball back and transition.
    No discipline.

    Nothing ever changes with Arsenal.

Brilliant goal, but that is fúcking horrendous by Coquelin. His needless steps too far across when he should know where Robben wants to go was just awful.

Everyone knows Robben is lethal cutting in and somehow Coq thought it's good to invite him to do that. Awful defending.

Real haven't exactly been great this season either even if they should walk la liga. Have been scraping wins regularly so wouldn't be surprised if it is another shock like last nights.

    There was.

If Coquelin had stayed where he was when Robben picked it up rather than sidestepping, Robben doesn't shoot the ball or it likely gets blocked.

The fact that Insigne even thought about shooting from there shows just how poorly positioned Navas was.

    Benzema 1-1.

Arsenal have been dire, Munich all over them.

Its only a matter of time before they get a 2nd.

Love watching Napoli play. Possession football that's got structure and has beeb well drilled levelling the playing field against far more illustrious opponents.

    Neuer....

WTF is Sanchez whining about there? It was clearly outside the area.

Don't think that should be a penalty.

Penalty from nothing for Arsenal......dreadful defending on the rebound

Tonight's comedy performance is brought to you by the Bayern Munich defence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Good finish there, terrible peno.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Sanchez had 3 chances to score there. Neuer should be fuming with his teammates.

    Awful decision for the penalty

Poor penalty, piss poor defending but Sanchez did really well to score. Now that game is very interesting.

If Wenger has a bit of cop on he'd park the bus now and settle for the 1-1. Thankfully, he hasn't. More goals on the way here for sure, probably for Bayern.

Stonewall peno for Bayern there. Ref is having a mare.

Lewandowski should have done better with that

Stonewall me arse, his hand is well down.

Arm down by side, ball to hand, not a penalty for me. Neither was the one he gave though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Ya, refgs had a nightmare.
No penalty at one end, given.
Stonewall at the other end, not given.

Couldnt make it up ha :pac:

Lewandowski was clearing the ball, swung his foot at ball. Didn't even see Koscielny coming from his blind side. How was it a penalty?

Because he cleared Koscielny instead of the ball. Can't blame the ref for Lewandowskis poor awareness.

Possibly argument for high foot is why it's contentious for me.

Because he kicked another player. Simple as that. He kicked a player and stopped him from getting to the ball he won legitimately.

Add to that, that Kosceilny had a high foot in blocking the ball so it's actually him catching Lewandowskis foot coming through with the clearance.

The most controversial thing about that penalty call is that Lewandowski didn't receive a booking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Should have been a free out but UEFA officials are worse than anything in England.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,672 ✭✭✭ElTel

Dunphy won't let Ozil away with that turning his back to the ball moment.
    Enjoying it so far.
