Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

complete cat food

Can anyone recommend an affordable complete cat food that isn't "bitty"? I used to feed my cat on Royal Canin but with the BFF (Big Fat F*cker) it's become too much for me to afford on top of their pet insurance which shot up because Corey is 7! I fed them various foods like Whiksas and Maxi Zoo own brand but they only pick out the pieces they like and the rest they leave behind. To feed them Royal Canin would cost me more than I spend on food for myself for a month! I'd love to be able but...

Any recommendations? Basically my problem is they pick out the nice tasting pieces and leave the rest behind. Is there an affordable catfood that doesn't have the "bits"?

Hey OP, I'd recommend having a look at Smilla from Zooplus, I used to use Royal Canin as well, but with seven cats (and a few ferals wandering in now and then) it just got too expensive. The smilla probably wouldn't be the same quality as RC, but the ingredients aren't actually that different and it's a lot cheaper. There's no bits in it either (Thankfully cos my buggers would do the same and only eat certain kibbles from the mixed foods), and you can get an XXL version for bigger cats.

Animonda Carny (not any other version!) can usually be gotten around 3 EUR per kg or less if you buy big cans (for example here) which is Felix price range; Catz can drop on special prices as well along with Feringa Duo as well and they are all good quality foods.

I feed mine JAMES WELLBELOVED TURKEY (Adult) - there are no bits in it, and it gets eaten - unlike all the other stuff Ive tried that is rejected

Thanks guys! Gonna get them a big bag from zooplus. Finally stop them meowing at full bowls of food too. Eat it or leave, kitties!

I should have specified - I feed my cats on dry food alone! Wet food was working out too expensive and causing them to turn into demons wanting more and more. Also on the off chance - which happened only once, today, that one of them is caught short and poos in the house, it's so much easier to clean up! It wasn't his fault. I stayed up till 5:30am watching Brexit then slept in late and he was caught short.

My husband is a nightmare for that. Our cat will lick off all the jelly from the wet pieces then will cry and cry til she is given more. If I am home alone, I leave the food til she eats it. When he is around, I can hear the 'tap tap' of the cat bowl on the inside of the bin and know he is refilling it for her. "But she's staaaaaarving"!!! Argh! She is an extra noisy tortiseshell so sounds like a wailing baby.

Just to point out, if you buy from zooplus UK website rather than the Irish one, you can benefit from the exchange rate, plus free shipping over £79. I feed all (8) of mine on RC Fit 32 and its currently €45 for a 12 kilo bag. This is €3.75 per kilo. :)
