Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Heard ticket sales for corks home game were quite high from the start. Hope it's not just a runaround, last game showed Genk can be got at.

If we keep it respectable then we should be ok, of course an away goal would be vital to us having any chance of going through but Im not thinking about that, just going to enjoy the occasion, heading over tomorrow night to make a fool of myself on 10% Belgium beer.

7pm kick off for Dundalk so no one is caught out. 0-0 after 6 mins.

BATE just hit the cross bar.

    Dundalk under severe pressure.

Dundalk need to get a hold of the ball for a while. BATE are all over them.

Dundalk are wasting their time hitting it high, they seem better on the floor.

That's a disgraceful decision. Yet again, big reputation = favourable decisions. That's a big break Dundalk could have done with.

It was reckless and deserved a red. Ref doesn't want to make a big call.

Dundalk's touch has been horrible :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

Rogers kicking has been poor, giving away cheap balls.

They've been caught a couple of times and now they're giving up trying to play football. Need to show more conviction. BATE just running straight at the man in possession knowing he's going to panic and give it away.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

Chances to pass it out, but Dundalk keep lumping it up to no one. If this continues it will only be a matter of time before BATE score.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 11,393 Mod ✭✭✭✭Captain Havoc

The ref might not be on Dundalk's side but it looks like God is, 0-0 is a miracle.

Jesus lads, it's a lot easier said than done to just pass the ball out. Dundalk's problem at the minute is that they haven't got an identity. Some of them (ie O'Donnell/Rogers) are eager to play their normal way, but some others are pushing up.

What's crucial for Kenny is that they're all on the one wavelength. No point in Rogers passing the ball out to Boyle if he's immediately getting it back and onto his wrong foot. Similarly, if they are gonna try play off McMillan's head, they need to press up as a team so Horgan and co can get closer to him, because right now the BATE defenders can just duck and it plays through to the goalkeeper.

Encouraging half with Dundalk having two good chances. Away goal is crucial though. Can't see them keeping BATE quiet for 180 mins.

Doing well to be nil. Blatant red card not given. If the get away 1-0 loss they will be doing very well.

I think they would be more effective trying to get balls for Horgan to run onto to. They aren't winning anything in the air.

    Possession! !

Pushing O'Donnell into the advanced role along with the two subs has made Dundalk look a lot more solid both in attack and defence.

    Defense is getting shambolic.

If they concede one, it there could be a few more.

Wish I understood the handball rule. Bad pass. Definitely hand ball for Hleb to control the ball. Bad keeping.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,029 ✭✭✭tastyt

Rogers on the bench for Ireland was an absolute farce by the way

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

Just like in Iceland only showing conviction on the ball when they concede. Shame. I think BATE are chancy chasing the ball. Couple of passes would take loads of them out of the game.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

Kilduff has been atrocious since coming on. Causing Dundalk problems.

Heary very negative - says he'd be happy with the 1-0 and thinks Dundalk should play counter in Tallaght for first 75 mins...
