Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, I am experiencing hair loss and want to know if the drug Finasteride (Propecia/Proscar) can be prescribed in Ireland and if it can be, what is the approximate cost? Thanks in advance.

Try googling your thread title. The first result has the answer to your question.

    Yes. It's available.

It's sold as Fintrid here. It only comes in 5mg as its intended for treating enlarged prostate.

You'll need to cut it into quarters or more and take it in the recommended ~1mg dose. The pill is quite small so it's tricky.

You can get a prescription from webdoctor.ie, some more info on there https://www.webdoctor.ie/hair-loss

Is it recommended by Irish GP's in general? It does have it's detractors.

Discussion of prescription meds is not allowed here. Discuss with your GP please
