Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

French victory 2-0, Romania & Albania to draw 1-1.

Are we still hoping for a draw in the ROM-ALB game, to boost Irelands chances if we manage to finish 3rd, or has the realism ship come in and docked?

You'll have the lineups as the deadline isn't until just before kickoff at 8.

Just noticed that, of course I went ahead and put Payet in anyways!

It's probably not the glamour tie but I think I'll give Romania vs Albania a look seeing as both those sides need to win, which will hopefully lead to some goals.

    Looks like Ruby Walsh

Some very odd choices as pundits in this Euros

Romanian fans seem to have given this one a miss.

They are probably busy getting stuck in outside.

Tuned into the France match but already considering changing to the other one. More reason for Romania and especially Albania to go for the win.

They were talking about him on OTB the other week and he said that he changed his hairstyle deliberately during his career. When he was a footballer, he grew it long so that he would appeal to the fans, and look like some sort of William Wallace type character charging around the pitch. Then when he went in to business he cut it short so that he would look respectable. The OTB guys were very impressed at the depth of his planning.

Now there was a yellow card and a free kick for the same challenge in the Romania game as what happened to Long yesterday

OMG how did nobody get a boot on that it was just hanging there for ages.

France are horrific at defending set pieces.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Oh boy Brian Kerr on co-commentary. I'll be listening with great gusto to his many gems.

''The defender gave him a bit of an aul hoosh there, George. Nothing wrong with it.''

''Nearly took the head off him there with a high boot, like the boys with Shane Long yesterday.''

''Embolo trying to gerra a hooooook on it''

Hate the way France have to wear their away kit. Red v White is ok tonight, but Wales had to change against England.

Good start to Fra v Swi. Plenty of action.

One game on the laptop and the other on the TV

    One TV with France match.
    One TV with Romania match.
    One TV with Lowry.
One TV waiting for Glenroe to start at 8.30 .. :pac:

Away kits are often worn for marketing purposes even when there is no clash.

    Good effort by Romania's Alibec.

Albania wearing their away strip too. Yellow and red would be grand I'd have thought.

Pogba playing his way back into the team.

Hilarious how the studio his couldn't figure out what result would suit us best between Albania and Romania.

    Ah a draw lads.

An Albanian win doesn't look likely on current evidence. Romania don't concede much and Albania are struggling to get out of their half at the moment.

Slightly off-topic, but do think S'James are a being bit rude offering the 'Northern boys in green' a tad generous price at 15 to beat Germany,
and massive 450 (2pl 1/2) for Outright (that's triple some other bookies), sure they seem to enjoy putting balls in the net.

And after Belgium, the 'Southern boys in green' are only 3.25 to beat the 'happy to score' Italians.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Oh big chance for Albania wasted. He was offside, I think.

    Who's showing the other game?

RTE2 and TV3 showing one each.

In all my years here I've never seen a joint match thread.

    Why?

Surely Romania on 2 points is better than Albania on 3 points

With 2 points Ireland will be behind on goal difference anyway so whether Romania have 2 or Albania have 3 it won't matter.

Hopefully the Romania - Albania game stays a draw until late on. It would be exciting to see both teams desperately trying to score which is rare, usually it's one team trying to score and the other one hanging on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Albania spurning decent chances.
