Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Henderson over hits every pass, then under hits every set piece - can't blame the ball, clearly.
Clyne, Dier and Hardy are playing well - the rest of them look like headless chickens.
Can't judge Hart - don't even know if he'll have to come out second half.

Thank God those vuvuzelas never caught on, don't know what the South Africans were thinking with that noise, when it is fans shouting and singing that gives the atmosphere.

There's such a strong narrative around Wilshire - "he doesn't lose the ball", "our most dynamic attacker", "best passer in the country"....is any of it even close to being true? He's a decent player, but to be honest he's awfully slow, and even just on the ball it looks like he can't quite get his legs to do what he wants them to. When there's a bit of chaos around him in the opposition half, he looks a bit lost.

I actually much prefer him in that deep playmaking role Roy has used him in in the past, where he has more time to look up and pick a pass, with the field in front of him.

Hes just having a poor game, people are reading way too much into it.

He's been the same every time I watch him over the past 2 years.

The only times i've been impressed by him in that time are when he's played deeper. When he receives the ball under pressure he's unconvincing, which is vital if he wants to play in that attacking creative role.

Roberto Martinez giving out about the space between Russia's CB's on ESPN. A subject matter expert on the issue. :pac:

Odd to see football on RTE2, TV3, ITV, ITV Wales, ITV2 and ITV4 at the same time.

ITV3 should show a split screen of the two games, for completeness.

Only because ITV4 is nation wide and not region split.

They really are brilliant. Great to hear fans singing in grounds. Such a rare thing nowadays...

...but wait??? is it possible that most of these fans are not stuffed into bangor or TNS ground at the weekend or have never been at at a LOW match?? Boooooooo-urns - booooooo-urns :P :pac:
Clearly a load of event junkies!

Dele Alli for Lallana and Rooney for Henderson and that's England's best team.

    Kane as super-sub.

England have been pretty impressive, better than the likes of Germany and France so far. Personally, would be starting Clyne, Henderson, Vardy and Sturridge in the future.

I timed it. Four minutes coverage at half time.

"Back after a SHORT break" indeed.

Wales could still lose this as daft as that sounds

It's very pleasant altogether watching Russia take a beating. Thanks, Wales. Keep up the good work!

Want someone to bang in four, for once.

    C'mon Bale. Lets do this.

Hamsik one of the most overrated players in football today.

Looked a great prospect as a teenager but he suffered a horrible run of injuries which seems to have robbed him of that early zeal.

Not a single wide player then, though? Can't see how that would work. Everyone would want to be in the same part of the pitch.

    Smalling was blessed!

No Lallana in their best team? He's been amongst their best performers this tournament thus far imo. In that midfield role i'd have Lallana over Rooney every day of the week to be honest.

If it's a case of one off a lone striker, then i'd go for Rooney, but as long as there's 2 up, Rooney's best assets are all negated.

Certainly wouldn't have Wilshire ahead of either of them though.

He's the Slovakian Wayne Rooney (or Steven Gerrard, to be more specific) - does some incredible highlight reel stuff here and there, but disappears for huge chunks and doesn't always have great split-second intelligence when it comes to doing the right thing at the right time, at high pace/in the blink of an eye.

    Unlucky Bale

Wales are actually sloppy in attack. Should be four up

Clyne showing agaisnt Weiss there that you don't have to leg it all the way out of the stadium after he checks inside.

Yeah I was just thinking that. On this kind of form they'd beat us handily. Ramsey, Bale and Allen are bossing it.

Jaysus. Like a cross between Sinead O'Connor and The Blair Witch calling out Rooney's sub appearance there.

To be fair to them, they're missing the bulk of their first choice midfield (and best players).

Why is the match on ITV and itv2 - it seems to be the same broadcast?

Still waiting for England to go behind in St Etienne so I can make an oblique reference to them being in a bad way.

Yeah Dzagoev and Denosov, really missing them.

gah, Rooney - stop doing that stupid 'loooong lofted ball to the fullback' thing. it accomplishes nothing. It takes so long to get there, that even if it finds a man (which it often doesn't) the opposition have an age to reorganize and completely isolate the receiver so he can't do anything once he gets it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Henderson has his engine back, but his final ball has been rusty. Did better that time.

It's OK, he's Wayne Rooney, he'll good-as-never be called on that his entire career.
