I suppose I'm looking at underdogs style cartridges.

Ultimately I'd say it's the 22wmr. It fell out of favour since the 17hmr hit the streets but it's still a worthy hunting round.

Had a 22 WMR and it accounted for loads of foxes
    I'd say the 22 Hornet...love the hornet

The hornet was a monster when it first hit the shelves.
It's a pity it's gone so friggin expensive.

Great all rounder they accounted for many a venison dinner in the day before minimum energy etc etc.

Inslfo day that the 22/250 is an underrated load with buckets of killing power . It's well able to complete with bigger calibres when ranges are kept sensible.

Love my .22/250, just a bit scary that it costs €1.20 every time I squeeze the trigger;)

I suppose it would have to be the 22lr. It's done more than any other round😫

Staying in the sprit of the OP, is the 22LR under rated though?

Yes, it's a crackin' cartridge, anyone who says otherwise is a fool, but I'm pretty sure it gets damn close to every bit of the recognition it deserves readily enough.

For my penny, the venerable 16-gauge would be my selection for "most under rated". Fast, light, easy to walk with, and will do damn near anything a 12-gauge will do at the same time.
