I wouldnt say so and I'd think its going to be difficult to skip into another wave on the day with all of the colour coding going on. I'd say they'll have a heap of marshals watching out for this.

Really is a disappointment, Berlin last year you could switch anywhere you wanted,within reason.
Irish version "yeah you can count yourself lucky you get a lottery place and right in there at the back should suffice".
Surely wouldn't be a big deal to change a colour on a number.

If I were you i'd look around the pen for some fit looking people and ask if they fancy company or ask if they're running your time and pace off each other. Also get to the front of the pen. Its not that big of an issue if you find like minded people and get out ahead of the crowd.

Quick question on the finish area layout. You finish on the north side of merrion square from the east and the baggage is on the south side. From my previous experience (2012) the west side of the square was open and meeting point 1 was where you exited after getting your stuff. This year is that the same and if so how do you get back to the baggage, is the a loop back along the north side?

Thanks, can you still get out on the south west corner to meeting point 1? That's what confuses me. I would expect west to be closed but struggle with how there is a meeting point there.

The Eagle lads from Cork are keeping their powder very dry. The sometime poster here 'Red Water'* who ran a superb 2.34.56 pb in Berlin is going again. Hardly going to repeat that but I believe he's recovered well and is in good shape. An even older, in both senses, poster KentuckyPete is aiming for a pb around the 2.55 mark; not bad for an ancient fecker.

Does anybody know what pedestrian access to the start line and holding pens is like in the morning?

More specifically, if I was at Mespil and wanted to get to Merrion Square, can I just walk down Baggot street lower/Mount street lower as normal or will they be cordoned off?
