    Not a surprise really. He always rides two grand tours a year, did the Giro for the first time this year and prefers the Vuelta to the Tour. Declaring for the national champs was a bit of a hint too.

    Shame Nico is not in it this year. But having said that sky still have named a great team line up for the tour

    As soon as he was named in the Giro I knew he wasn't riding the Tour this year. I reckon he was asked to the Giro as he changed his schedule before hand. May now get a chance to lead in Spain
