Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Group F

    Country W D L GD Pts

    HUN 1 1 0 2 4
    ICE 0 2 0 0 2
    POR 0 2 0 0 2
    AUT 0 1 1 -2 1

This is one of the most exciting groups, with all the teams having a chance to progress.

Will Ronaldo finally find his goalscoring touch or might Portugal be heading for a shock exit? Can Hungary win the group?

Will Austria finally rediscover their form from their qualification campaign or can Iceland thwart them and find a way through?

What are your thoughts on the games? I'll go for a 2-1 Portugal win and a 1-0 win for Austria.

Pushy, yes, but according to RTE:
He is asked, in Portuguese, the seemingly innocuous question, "Are you ready for the game today?"

but my Portuguese is a bit rusty

Ronaldo had every right to chuck his mic in the river the way he shoved it over it colleague and into his face

PEOPLE NEED TO GET OVER THEMSELVES. I always say it, the world exists as it does because of an exchange between everyone involved. Ronaldo would not be what he is with all the wealth and acclaim without the media and the hype surrounding the sport, the individuals, the rivalries, its just a game of ****ing football without all the hype and media.

Ah jesus, what am I gonna watch here??

    Iceland or Ronaldo?

Surely he'll bang in a couple today?

I can two upsets here and equally no upsets. Impossible to call.

Liam Brady bullshítting his way through the Iceland team.

FFS, RTE are useless. Iceland have played twice already. Plenty of footage of them. Get someone who has analysed them to talk about them other than "well, we don't know much about them Darragh".

    Pathetic.

Hungary at 8/1 is very tasty, the draw at 3/1 also. Portugal have shown nothing in this tournament that would make me fear them from the Hungarians perspective.

Ronaldo gone a calender year without scoring for Portugal - surely that's got to end purely on the basis of chance!

Did they scour the streets looking for the woman with the most annoyingly piercing voice to do the countdown?

I think Portugal have played quite well. The only thing missing is their finishing. 49 attempts on goal for them but just one scored. Ronaldo alone has had 20 shots.

Hard to fathom that they will be so wasteful for a third game in a row.

Unlucky Iceland. That would have been some start and a screamer of a goal.

I like Iceland for this great early shot

Don't know which game to watch...Meanwhile I'm not sure if the kids that don't watch football are even still alive and haven't seen my husband in days

Lawrie Sanchez the exact opposite of Keith Andrews on commentary duties.

Ronaldo's had 22 shots. 10 were blocked. How many of the other shots were on target? Over 60% of his shots have been 25 yards plus. It's hard to finish from that distance.

as the later rounds approach and the never ending playing-for-penalties, there'll be a couple of days between games. You can catch up then..

If Austria go out they will be haunted by Arnautovic not being able to get that in.

Moutinho's delivery has been really poor this tournament
