Yeah I've always had an irrational dislike of the Swiss from that campaign.

The Swiss I can't really fault apart from the aggro given at the Basel game in 2003. What was really gutting in that campaign was the way the Irish players lumbered towards a tepid WC exit in the final game v. the Swiss at Lansdowne. A victory would have sent Ireland into the playoffs and who knows what after that, but the team just never really looked like scoring. People talked about how Kerr had lost the dressing room but if you can't use potential WC qualification as a reason to put that aside and put in the performance of a lifetime then you shouldn't have been representing your country on that evening.

Wasn't the Basle game the last of that campaign, not Dublin? I seem to remember a fairly routine 2-0 win for the Swiss.
