Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

First car - advice needed

I am in the market for my first car. I have a full license but haven't been insured for the past 2 years no so ncb. I'm looking at a 1.2-1.4 petrol (solely from insurance perspective). I am not too picky but I will be driving from Galway to Dublin/Cork every week so I'd like something suitable. I was thinking 1.4 golf/focus but haven't seen any positive comments on here for either.

Has anyone experience of a 2007 1.3 Mitsubishi lancer (basic - no modifications).

    Thanks!

1.4 Golf and Focus will be frustratingly sluggish especially if being used for regular long trips. A 1.4 litre Corolla would be nippier than either of those two. The Lancer while fine for the job would want to be very cheap as the 2001 to 2007 model feels very dated these days.

A lot of fiesta sized cars would be more refined than that model lancer.
