Car key fob only sometimes working to unlock/lock

    Is this a problem with the keys themselves or the car? Mostly not working.

    Anyone know repair people that can fix them?

    Car is a 05 petrol avensis

    Most likely battery in key needs to be replaced.

    I brought them to a locksmith who said battery is fine. He had some thing to test the signal.

    Today the car lock button is working fine but the unlock button isn't. Tomorrow it could be the other way around.

    Possibly it's the fob itself, the buttons are getting worn, connections not working properly.
    Is there a spare key somewhere?

    Have the master key which is grey but not a fob key.
