Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Letting dog look out window during the day

Hi, i dont own a dog, but am minding a friend's jack russell for 2 weeks. She is used to being on her own, and im at work for 8 hours, so she has access to the kitchen & dining room. Up to now ive tweaked the front blinds so she can sit on back of the couch & look out down the road. But she stays there pretty much the whole time, so now im wondering would i be better off just closing the blinds, and let her forget about whats outside, relax & just go to sleep. Any pet psychologists out there ? :). I dont think she barks, but it might be frustrating for her seeing people & cats & dogs going to & fro...

I can't see why it would be frustrating for her, she probably likes to keep an eye on things. Our cat sits in our front window all the time. I think she has a friend in one of the neighbours cats who comes to say hello. I daresay it also keeps her from being bored.

No id say she will be happy there. My two dogs sit at the window and watch the world go past when I am at work all day. If they want to sleep, they will so id say she's happy enough there!

The only thing to watch out for is if she's getting agitated at things going past.

I leave the tv on for my dog. She watches a bit of morning tv, maybe a movie in afternoon before preparing dinner

My two are downstairs during the day so not interested in looking out the back BUT if I'm working from home they set up camp upstairs on my bed and watch everyone's comings and goings out on the road between naps lol! :)
