Theory test requirements?

    So I'm about to book my theory test.

    The requirements I believe are: Valid ID (passport) & 2 passport photos (coloured).

    My current passport is expired and I've recently applied for a new one. Not sure when it will arrive but would it be ok if I brought to the test my old passport and the 2 new passport photos I've taken. Or do the photos from the passport have to match.

    P.S Is it also ok to bring an expired passport. I heard something about them accepting expired passports for a certain amount of months or something like that

    Since an expired passport is not a valid ID, I would assume that it's not okay. I don't know for certain though.

    I just googled it:

    'Only valid (in date) and original documents in good condition will be accepted. Irish Passports and Irish Passport Cards will be accepted if they are in date, or expired by no more than one year. For example; if your Irish Passport expires on September 30th, 2014, it can still be used as proof of identification until September 30th, 2015.'

    One year so it is.

    So is it ok if I brought the expired one and the new coloured passport photos?
