Absolutely loved Claudias dance. It was out of this world. I thought that Tameka was dressed very badly and I found it very hard to see her footwork a lot of the time. I loved Louise's dance too. Flashdance is one of my favourite films and I thought her routine was fantastic.

Posted earlier before I saw Ed and Louise's dance, Ed's was pretty terrible, can't believe Len gave him a 7, Louise's dance was... ok... felt very slow to me? Have rewatched Claudia's Charleston a couple of times, it really was incredible. It's a complex routine and the footwork was spot on. I think dances like that, were there isn't a lot of 'in hold' dancing will work well for her, because the height difference isn't as apparent. That dance is up there with Jay's jive for me.

Claudia was the highlight of the night for me. Such intracity is needed with her dance number and she nailed it. She looked like she was having fun too which made it better. Will Young was a close second. He stayed true to himself and I loved his routine. His comeback to Len was resonant with his response to Simon Cowell back in the day.

Will's comment was very unnecessary. I'm not a dance expert but I was looking for more content than that. Everyone knows that Len is a traditionalist.

Surprised at how sprightly Leslie is. She's an absolute credit. I'm most disappointed with Laura's routine and Naga's routine. They looked so uncomfortable. There's no need for all the flying in on ropes. Just focus on the dancing ! Claudia's charlston was the best this series. Loved Ori's dance too , I can see he's only going to get better and better . A real contender for the finale.

Totally agree about not being able to see the feet sometimes. Whether it's a dress that's too long, the unnecessary smoke effect, or the cameras focusing on the upper body.

I don't like the blonde hair on Joanne Clifton. Brunette suited her much better last year.

She had red hair too? I think the blond is a lot less severe.

    Lesley is 70???

    Like, 70 :eek::eek:

    Holy ****!!! Respect!!

Johnny Ball was 74 when he took part in 2012. Unfortunately he was first out. :o:);)

She's amazing for 70. Compared to many of Anton's previous partners who were considerably younger, she's got stamina and can actually dance!

I've decided to suffer the whole programme tonight instead of fast-forwarding through it......

Joanne Clifton with that blonde haircut really, REALLY reminds me of Amy Huberman!

Who do we think is going home tonight?

For me it's either Ed or Anastasia

    I'd hope it's Ed.

But you can never legislate for the voting public

    See?

Where the f*** did that result come from

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

 My face when I heard who was in the dance off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,919 ✭✭✭RosyLily

Like Abbey Clancy in the DO a few years ago. Worked out well for her though.;)

Wut, the first couple in the dance off? How does that work

Her moves are fantastic for 70.
But I thought she was older to be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,051 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

OK, I'm assuming there's only going to be one winner here.

Maybe that's a bit presumptuous of me though.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,919 ✭✭✭RosyLily

Aw I like Tameka! She looks like she's having a ball. Anastacia looked shocked!

I like both Laura and Tameka is I'm on the fence with this vote

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,051 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Laura keeps looking down at the floor - noticed it last night as well, very irritating and noticeable!

And that roll-up lift was a bit ungainly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,495 ✭✭✭✭eviltwin

I want Tameka to stay just for Gorka....he is fit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,051 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

They're going to trip over that hat if they're not careful

Tameka much sharper this time round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,592 ✭✭✭✭Mam of 4

Preferred Tamekas dance off to be honest , her footwork was fairly nifty at times :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,051 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Laura looks like she's going to cry

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,495 ✭✭✭✭eviltwin

That's a shame, she had a lot of potential

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,051 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Hmmmm, not sure I agree with that at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,592 ✭✭✭✭Mam of 4

Don't like that result at all . I thought Tameka danced far better than Laura did :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

I'm gonna miss Gorka and Tameka, I felt they did dance better than Laura but I do like them both.

I'll miss Tameka. She's so funny and her final dance was gas!:D I was really hoping it would be Ed or Naga in the DO instead.

I hope Gorka is back next season....easy on the eye.;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,438 ✭✭✭Crazyteacher

Devastated. Tameka was far better than Laura, both times :( totally agree with Darcy on this.

Neither should have been in dance off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,919 ✭✭✭RosyLily

Neither should have been in dance off.

Agreed. But there's usually a 'shock dance off' at some stage in the series, like Abbey or Pixie. Just wasn't expecting it so soon. I hope there's not gonna be another Ann Widdicombe situation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Think that was the right result. Really liked Laura's dance.

I presume you're referring to Ed there?

I don't think he has quite the personality or bonkersness of Ann, so wouldn't think he'll last as long in the public amusement stakes.

But then again, wasn't it John Sargent who had to practically volunteer to resign from the show for fear he'd win the bloody thing? (or was that Ann? or someone else? I really should pay more attention....)

I hope he doesn't stay at the expense of a good dancer. Yeah, it was John Sargent that left the show. I can still see him dragging Kristina across the floor like a sack of spuds!:pac:

My mums just after saying that to me. All she remembers when she thinks of Strictly is John dragging her across the floor!!

I hope he brings out a calendar like Gleb did, it's the only way I get to see him :D

    :D

I think they both sharpened up their dances from last night, but I do think Laura's was the better dance overall. I didn't like Tameka's dance, I think it was a poor song choice. Is it the dancer that chooses the music? Some of the choices are strange.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,357 ✭✭✭✭leahyl

I didnt like Laura dancing at all - is it just me or did the whole thing feel really unnatural, don't think she's a great dancer at all, or at least not at this style of dancing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,852 ✭✭✭ncmc

I think the issue is that she's a bit lacking in the personality department, she comes across as very vanilla. I think a big part of dancing is the performance and hers are just really lacking. That's why sometimes a bad dancer with a good personality can do quite well (like Jeremy Vine last year for example)

I think you're right, there's just something very fake about her and Craig was going on about Judge Rinders facial expressions, hers were shocking! She seems like a nice enough girl and everything but def needs to work on personality and looking less awkward.

On the flip side... Judge Rinder is only 38!!!! I would have put him at mid to late 40's!!!

    #Gork2017 :D

Laura does seem a bit vanilla. I hope she loosens up more. She could be really good. My dad said that Laura's legs look weird, like she has no knees or something. I spent the whole dance off looking at her knees!!!:o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,648 ✭✭✭honeybear

Was a bit disappointed with Louise's performance. Loved the song and routine but it I think that it lacked speed when she was going solo (note: I have 2 left feet myself!!!) On the other hand, Kevin is great at giving his partners the main focus in dances and she really does appear to be enjoying their performances. Claudia and Ore were superb. I hate the Paso and Danny did a great job. Sad to see Tameka go

I think it's those thick flesh coloured tights they wear, the sort that ice skaters wear, I think they make the legs look a bit weird and shapeless. She normally has great legs, she's a big fan of the micro mini on I'm a celebrity.

I felt the exact same! It was far too slow for the music. I think she was another one that was over marked.

I didn't see the show tonight but I'm not surprised that Tameka has gone. She was dressed very badly last night so badly I could hardly see her legs move. She's a lovely lady and it's a disappointment that she's gone so soon.
